- burstaneurysm, on 04/09/2009, -6/+660Man, what a ***** dick move. You can tell that his bandmates are just thinking "not this ***** again."
- zlemonz, on 04/09/2009, -3/+405It's just painful to watch how uncomfortable his band-mates are while Billy Bob dicks out.
- brickbat, on 04/09/2009, -5/+350"Would you say that to Tom Petty."
You're no Tom Petty, *****. - shoover, on 04/09/2009, -3/+321Wow, I would *not* go see him if someone paid me to, what a belligerent ass.
At the start I thought he was high or something, but turns out no, he's just being a dick. - calypsis, on 04/09/2009, -6/+303Jian Gomeshi handled it like a pro!
- Wronghead, on 04/09/2009, -5/+285He and Joaquin Phoenix are huffing cat piss.
- kennethsteven1, on 04/09/2009, -8/+237His performance was Oscar worthy! Oscar the grouch that is.. har har
- astarthedrummer, on 04/09/2009, -16/+243Wow, Jian Ghomeshi rules and Billy Bob can go back to the US if he's gonna disrespect Canadians like that
- AwsmGy, on 04/09/2009, -5/+205What a dick. Props to the guy giving the interview.
- Toon, on 04/09/2009, -7/+191Kevin Bacon wouldn't pull this *****.
- Badfish2, on 04/09/2009, -3/+186"I grew up pretty much a music historian... I'm pretty important"
- aphovasse, on 04/09/2009, -15/+164The host Jian Gomeshi was amazing, but that American fella was a real idiot and so rude too!
- smayn2816, on 04/09/2009, -3/+145wtf, "what kind of music did you listen to as a kid?" "I subscribed to a monster magazine." wow.
- rdolishny, on 04/09/2009, -3/+116Jian is a total pro. I would have have been so patient and respectful. BTW this is always a great show! Try the podcast.
- TwwIX, on 04/09/2009, -2/+111What is it with these Andy Kaufman wannabes lately?
- Jonathonish, on 04/09/2009, -3/+105Well in Billy Bob's defense he really is a piece of ***** actor who got lucky and won an Oscar for writing 13 years ago. You are right for thinking that you and no one else wants to hear about your acting career. As a matter of fact, we all feel that way about your music career. Doubly, at that.
- pat0neill, on 04/09/2009, -9/+91mind you, he is a dumbass who did a bit of the old 'in-out, in-out" with angelina jolie.
- blorc, on 04/09/2009, -4/+85What a ***** *****.
- Hamakuas, on 04/09/2009, -2/+80To those who are wondering, you absolutely need to watch the whole thing, the context gets lost if you skip around. Talk about a total *****. I was shocked, total prick. I am still in shock.. Jesus. O.o
It's like he is self loathing. A-hole. - Maksx, on 04/09/2009, -3/+71damn right canadians are reserved, i would've decked billy bob for being such a dick
- Johnnyjm, on 04/09/2009, -3/+67I don't know what you mean by that... I'm not sure what that means.
- therightclique, on 04/09/2009, -3/+64Did you watch the whole thing? He's not on anything. He's just pissed off and ***** with the host, trying to make it a ***** interview. Watch his Billy Bob's face during his introduction. You can see it happen.
- zoziw, on 04/09/2009, -2/+62I can understand...well, ok, I don't understand the need to act like a 6 year old when you don't get your way but to then take some shots at your audience for your next 4 upcoming gigs makes even less sense.
- nirbir12, on 04/09/2009, -7/+66Feel sorry for his bandmates. Whose Lisa Cone?
- tgc1, on 04/09/2009, -0/+54He's kind of a big deal?
- xXSheepyXx, on 04/09/2009, -3/+57LIKE A BOSS
- gutistg, on 04/09/2009, -4/+57Nope. Just finished it. He's a dick.
Guy's just trying to do a damned interview. - Sangreal2007, on 04/09/2009, -0/+52prima donna*
- futoranime, on 04/09/2009, -12/+63Is he high? From the shaking and the incoherent nature, seems he took something before he got on the radio.
- kingtobo, on 04/09/2009, -0/+51He might want that, but the host is correct in saying that a band of his gets more attention than it otherwise might because of his acting fame. It's ridiculous of Billy Bob Thorton to think that they won't mention his career in the introduction. The host never asked him any questions about acting, he just let listeners know that this was in fact the Billy Bob Thorton they had heard of before.
They had a performance on the show to prove that their music should be taken seriously, he didn't have to be a dick and try to hide the fact that he's an actor. - one1plus1one, on 04/09/2009, -3/+49Angelina used to do it with another woman: some Japanese chick.
Thus, I wonder if Billy-Bob and Angelina ever experimented with another chick, at the same time?
That's what I would ask on the radio:
"Ok, Billybob, I got it. Screw that acting-career talk. For that matter screw the music talk as well. What I really want to know is this: did you and Angelina ever... you know... with another woman?
I know... I know Billy... this isn't the Howard Stern show... but genuinely I think our listeners would be much more interested in hearing about you and Angelina and another chick, as opposed to either your acting or music career." - gutistg, on 04/09/2009, -5/+51Drugs? He seems very confused and "doesn't know" much about things he should know about.
I'm thinking mushrooms/mescaline, if anything.
Nevermind, he's probably just being an ass. - Dudemeyster, on 04/09/2009, -1/+44At 4:43 if you look at the laptop in front of him it says "If this really goes sideways I have new Neil, and new Metric standing by".
- seanovan, on 04/09/2009, -3/+45I didn't think I could possibly dislike this prick more. I bet he treats everyone around him like *****. I wouldn't even pirate his music.
And this interview was at 6AM, hes definitely coked the ***** up. - ZincSaucier, on 04/09/2009, -0/+36my favorite part is when billy bob claims they perform in rowdy places where people "throw things at each other" and the host shuts him down by pointing out they perform in theaters
- algaeturd, on 04/09/2009, -3/+39Who else was relieved that Billy Bob didn't bring his ***** trap set?
- jcroweall7, on 04/09/2009, -1/+36What gets me is how, once he actually starts answering questions, he's a condescending prick toward them ("...and I'd know more about that then a bunch of 20-year olds"). Plus the way he seems to be sitting at a distance from them, yet doesn't want individual attention.
I wonder if any of his band mates were thinking "Oh God, this is just like the time I quoted Bad Santa in front of him..." - Chirp08, on 04/09/2009, -0/+33We don't want him back. Send him somewhere else.
- satori3000, on 04/09/2009, -4/+36It's Joaquin Phoenix all over again. What the hells going on in the water system?
- algaeturd, on 04/09/2009, -5/+35Amen.
This guy is like when Bruce Willis and Eddie Murphy used their acting careers to launch really lame music careers.
What a dick. - civilizedevil, on 04/09/2009, -6/+36You can insult our half-baked actors and their various personality disorders, but I'll be damned if you insult our beer!
- ZincSaucier, on 04/09/2009, -1/+31he's on a huge pile of hollywood arrogance
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 04/09/2009, -0/+29I agree with the sentiment, but LOL @ "pre-Madonna"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prima_donna - bryantee, on 04/09/2009, -2/+31Seriously. And then he tries to pull a kind of modest "I'm not a famous actor I'm just a faceless member in a band" But he's the lead singer/songwriter. Way to try and duck the spotlight, buddy.
- Linake, on 04/09/2009, -0/+28Although, some of the stories he told did take place pre-Madonna. ;)
- leif77, on 04/09/2009, -0/+28You guys can defend him all you want... but the only time I heard the interviewer mention bb's acting is during the introduction... all of the questions were music and band based... he needs to grow up...
- evilregis, on 04/09/2009, -0/+26I get his point about not wanting to talk about his acting, but at no point was he asked to. His acting, as noted by the host, was simply giving context to the audience as to who he is.
Had the host started asking him what it's like to work with a midget then sure, put him in his place. This, however, was nothing of the sort.
The interviewer went right into MUSIC related questions and Billy Bob couldn't be bothered to answer them or talk about the topic he was there to talk about. Personally, he can go ***** himself as far as I'm concerned. Poor bandmates. - gyrfalcon, on 04/09/2009, -1/+27@tablecrusher
What's it like to live in an alternate universe where Bill Bob is king? - therightclique, on 04/09/2009, -2/+27"pre-Madonna"? Are you ***** serious?
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/primadon ... - Smudge4C, on 04/09/2009, -3/+28I kinda get the point that Billy-Bob was trying to make. He did go about it in a very strange way, though.
The interviewer was amazing, IMO, to get through the interview so smoothly and to be able to calm the situation when Billy-Bob seemed to be really conflictive.
The bandmates themselves didn't seem to interested in being there...especially when they were asked to play at the end!
Lisa Cohen was just his first love...no one of any significant status. -
