Prescription abuse really is a hidden epidemic, and the deaths of famous people like Anna Nicole and Heath Ledger are just the tip of the iceberg.

We've had a few teens die of oxycontin/methadone overdoses in my area yet the news runs more stories about busting marijuana users than the RX abusers and peddlers. Even with these famous deaths it's ignored because "If DR's tell us to take them, they must be safe".

I feel bad for how we as a society enjoy the bulling celebrities through out their lives. I feel for her as a person. Tragic. :(

- doyouwash, on 03/14/2009, -0/+1 I have no doubt in my mind that Howard K. Stern is a cold-blooded, psychopathic murderer.
First, he encouraged her to use drugs until she got addicted. He did this for two reasons:
1. To control her
2. So the public would see that she had a drug problem, which would come in handy later.
Then, he shuttled her and her son off to the Bahamas, where the father is, legally, whomever the mother says it is. Therefore, he would be could claim her daughter as his own, especially after their "marriage."
His next step was to off her son, Daniel. He was on antidepressants. Stern provided him with, and encouraged him to take, a methadone, knowing that the mix would be fatal. He probably knowingly gave him a large amount. Witnesses report that when Anna Nicole found out her son was dead, she started screaming at Stern, saying, "This is your fault!" Until he had her sedated, that is.
Daniel was to be Anna Nicole's SOLE heir, no matter who she married in the future or whether she had kids in the future. He was nearing the age in which the money would be his upon his mother's death.
Then he waited. Probably it would have been suspicious to kill Anna Nicole right away, not to the mention the fact that he first wanted to get legal custody of her daughter. He knew it wasn't his child, but he pretended, and he thought that if Anna Nicole told everyone he was the father, he'd be in the clear. So she had to stay alive until THAT mess was sorted out. Luckily, though, he failed on that account.
Finally, he killed Anna Nicole. He claimed he saw her "sleeping" and told no one to disturb her, because he wanted to make sure she was dead before anyone would have the chance to call 911 or get any kind of help.
So, it is my opinion that he was a LOT more than an enabler. He is a murderer.
