Basically, he said it was all BS. Apparently, he had been doing lots of interviews and got really sick of it so he started making crap up for the hell of it. The interviewer, apparently, took him seriously and that's where that story comes from.

Martin Scorsese also taught film school, I know its a stretch. But his students include Oliver Stone and Spike Lee.

- labizau, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3Lots of famous and quasi-famous writers are or have been teachers. It's pretty hard to make a buck as a novelist or poet, so teaching at an MFA program is a good way to pay the bills.

They get a couple months off a year to try to get noticed, they usually have nights and weekends off, which is is great for performing in plays and doing bar gigs. And it pays the bills while trying to get your big break. Also your employer usually does not try to claim any IP rights over your creations.
