          I work in private company business valuation. We value numerous pharmaceutical and bio-pharma companies. One of the primary things that comes up in my studies is the connection between advertising and marketing expenditures and drug sales. These companies are businesses that want to convince physicians and the population at large that their drugs are good for as many indications as possible. I think it is safe to say our society is highly over-medicated. Additionally, I have socio-psycho-epistemological issues with mainstream psychology and psychiatry in our culture in this day-and-age and have numerous fundamental disagreements with how our societal complexes approach mental issues. But, hey, when it's all said and done, I don't make the rules or regulations, I just try to live my life to my principles, spread a modicum of wisdom to the people in my circle who I interact with, and generally work towards living as free and enlightened a life as possible. But, I guess in onetimer's world, I am a demented troofer. Funny how your guys' herd jumps on cute little buzzwords and sayings and generally rabidly pack up to bark down those who disagree with you. It's honestly been an interesting life experience interacting with the digg bury (heads in the sand) brigade.

          I highly suggest reading Bugliosi's book on the JFK assassination. It is lengthy, but takes a very detailed look at all the conspiracy theories floating out there.

They come up with really good info, and then they have alien abductions, chupacabra, and globally exploding frogs. It's as if they were intentionally discrediting good information by throwing a bunch of crazy ***** in with it.

    David Icke has been telling people about the Project for a New American Century, which is real. It does call for U.S. military global domination, and is chaired by William Kristol, but then he comes up with reptilians.

        • kemp34, on 06/17/2008, -7/+3Onetimer, wake up man, college degrees are not anywhere near being the sole determinant of one's knowledge level. Most college majors, in fact, are based on highly specific knowledge due to the division of labor in our society and the need to specialize. Being university educated, though I believe it is a good thing, is definitely not a must-have in order to be able to secure knowledge and awareness of certain historical and current events. I am a non-ignorant part of the population and I see Jones as a journalist who has made mistakes that has hurt his credibility and is generally "out-there" but he definitely does some stuff that is really solid and is willing to put his neck on the line for what he believes in. To dismiss someone because they don't have a university degree is indicative of foolish intellectual hubris. I think you are a generally intelligent person Onetimer, but I do not believe you to have much of what my city brethren call "mother's wit". Lack of mother's wit leads to a more easily duped individual.

    I still check infowars now and then, because sometimes they do release information way before other media sources. On the other hand, said info has to be meticulously fact checked because much of it turns out to be wild speculation.

    I've heard him give speeches that are inspiring, but the ads on his site are tacky *****.

    Conclusion: Alex is both a hero and a nutjob.

  • fadeout, on 06/18/2008, -2/+4Alex Jones is ***** crazy when he's not blatantly just tricking his audience into buying stupid *****. Assuming he's just playing a role to these people to make money, like Art Bell or George Noory, may be giving him too much credit. I think he's nuts.

    I actually did watch the Bohemian Grove thing and it's clearly just a Burning Man for important rich white people, it really makes sense that they'd want a way to kick back since it's not like Alan Greenspan can just go to a bar to get smashed or to Bonnaroo and drop acid like everyone else.. and the tinfoil loon naturally assumes it's a satanic ceremony. Kook-tastic.
