- b3and1p, on 05/06/2009, -5/+36"80 times more potent than morphine" How much morphine? That is like saying "80 times bigger than a fish"
- PTJustinBowers, on 05/06/2009, -4/+33Right. And it's the alcohol that makes me strip naked and wrestle my buddies.
Wait, that's not right. - penthouse321, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2680 times more potent than morphine in general, ie: 1mg is equal in strength to 80mg of morphine
I'm fairly certain it's Fentanyl that she's on, because I know it comes in a patch form (or lollipop!) and is the only thing I've heard of that is that much stronger than morphine - b3and1p, on 05/06/2009, -1/+27I accidentally the pain killers.
- purseonality, on 05/06/2009, -2/+18Wow. I hope you Diggers don't ever have chronic pain. At least she's able to continue working, many people can't, even with medication.
- wiggles, on 05/06/2009, -2/+17A has-been celebrity hooked on pain meds?!?!? I've never heard of such a thing.
- howdareyou, on 05/06/2009, -1/+15The only reason I can tolerate American Idol is because of Paula, she's such a train wreck, it's hilarious.
- dafragsta, on 05/06/2009, -0/+13African or European fish?
- wiggles, on 05/06/2009, -1/+12it's probably fentanyl, or whatever she could get her dealer^H^H^H^H^H^Hdoctor to prescribe.
- dshigure, on 05/06/2009, -0/+11Krusty: Hey kids, it's story time! [laughs] I'm gonna tell you the story of Krusty's expensive new suit. His sexual harassment suit! [begins to laugh, groans] ...oh boy. Anyway, as part of Krusty's plea bargain, he has a new court-ordered sidekick, Ms. No-Means-No! Whoa! You're hot! Let's get some dinner after the show!
[Ms. No Means No blows her whistle and brandishes her 'No' sign at Krusty.]
Krusty: But I have dinner with all my employees. Right, Sideshow Mel?
Mel: We've never spoken outside of work.
Bart: [watching on TV] I'm surprised he doesn't try to blame his problems on his Percodan addiction.
Krusty: [Back on the show] It wasn't my fault! It was the Percodan! If you ask me, that stuff rots your brain. And now a word from our new sponsor... [reads card] ...Percodan?! Ahh crap! - inactive, on 05/06/2009, -0/+7men who live in glass houses...
really, is it anyone's business but her own if she's hooked on something? I wonder how many diggers on here have ever gone to work hungover, smoked a joint, or just plain old made a complete ass of themselves in public while wacked out on booze.
I blame her agent/publicist for allowing her to go on live television in that state. - ZhiZaki, on 05/06/2009, -2/+9Sounds like someone needs to have a "House detoxes!" moment.
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -1/+7Do...not...care. Buried.
- brownfallleaves, on 05/06/2009, -0/+6yes, she most have
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -0/+6***** paula hook me up with the fentanyls
- scentaroom, on 05/06/2009, -7/+13I think the painkillers may her act better
- Soniti, on 05/06/2009, -2/+7I think it's pretty ***** lame that she's on the fentanyl patch, and that they flaunt that it's "80 times more potent than morphine"- Yeah, and it's delivered transdermally, so it doesn't kick that hard.
Alarmist headline to excuse absurd behavior. - AndrewMoyer, on 05/06/2009, -1/+6Remember when she banged the one contestant? Good times.
How is this whacko still getting airtime? - dafragsta, on 05/06/2009, -0/+5I remember reading about her having some debilitating condition long before American Idol. (back in the 90s)
I also remember wanting Paula Abdul in the 6th grade. - inactive, on 05/06/2009, -0/+5are you sleep typing?
- aegis17, on 05/06/2009, -1/+5Spoken like a person who has never seen anyone with severe nerve disorders.
My ex-girlfriend had RSD (same thing Paula has) when she was a child, that would paralyze her with pain at completely random intervals. She said it was pain like you have never felt before, and never will. She was one of the lucky few who, with therapy and a great deal of luck, managed to get over it. Most people don't.
Read up on RSD some time. It isn't pretty. My greatest sympathies are with Paula, and I hope she can beat it; shame on you Diggers who play it off as if she were an alcoholic or drug abuser. - leif777, on 05/06/2009, -0/+4who's never been drunk?
- Zaxcomp, on 05/06/2009, -0/+4Did you miss the part about the chronic debilitating condition she has?
- MWeather, on 05/06/2009, -0/+4Not if you only use 1/80 the amount.
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -1/+5have you read up on how painful her condition actually is?
* severe burning pain
* pathological changes in bone and skin
* excessive sweating
* tissue swelling
* extreme sensitivity to touch
doesn't sound like much fun to me. - esteskid, on 05/06/2009, -0/+4Jesus was drunk all the time his blood is pure wine for christ's sake, or at least the church told me something like that...
- SDL486, on 05/06/2009, -1/+5She isn't alcoholic she already said she's never been drunk; but she has been high, she is addicted to pain killers.
- frontaxle, on 05/06/2009, -2/+6Paging Dr. Daniels. Dr. Jack Daniels.
- roguenkatz, on 05/06/2009, -1/+4Can someone say "Celebrity Intervention?"
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3Fentanyl is a helluva drug!
- YokohamaGaijin, on 05/06/2009, -2/+51st step is denial.
- SpeedStix, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3Jesus
- dlm85, on 05/06/2009, -0/+3I don't care how she acts as long her she is shows those funbags like she has been the past couple of weeks.
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2how about blaming her for making the decision? after all i'm pretty sure it's more her responsibility than anyone's..
- dsting, on 05/06/2009, -1/+3As an addict, I am skeptical of this. What is 80 times more potent than morphine? What does this mean? Heroin is not much stronger than morphine. Nothing is 80 times more potent than anything.
- Meocross, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2I blame paula for weird behavior
- robbob, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2the Michael Jackson excuse
- ColinGreig, on 05/06/2009, -1/+3This is old news..

- ptsuk, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2mostly......mostly.
- JigoroKano, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2Yeah but if you take 80 times less of it...
- Rudegar, on 05/06/2009, -1/+3so she been on painkillers since day one ?
- kanojo1969, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2Wikipedia says you're right, it's 81 times as potent as morphine. However, it's an opioid as well, so even though it's synthetic it's got a lot in common with morphine.
I'm impressed 'cos I thought that morphine was about as good as painkillers get. When I had a serious back injury I had a constant supply of morphine and it masked some unbearable levels of pain, I just wonder why they didn't give me this ***** instead, I would have been able to take a lot less.
All opioids make your ***** turn to cement in your bowels so taking less of it would be great. I wonder why it's not used in the ER. - kenlaw, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2Cancel American Idol - Problem Solved! Pretty simple when you look at the root cause. That would get rid of Simon and Randy and the new chick in one giant swoop.
- freezerburn666, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2i'd watch that show
- SpeedStix, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2If you need a publicist to tell you that you cannot go on T.V. because you are bombed/stoned/sloshed/acting weird something is wrong.
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -0/+2So would she start making out with Kara? Because I would watch that.
- Salstar, on 05/09/2009, -0/+1WTF is Reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome? No way! This is just another "I'm a Celebrity whose messed up and looking for some -ism to blame" syndrome! Want to know the script for a really entertaining show? Stick all these crazy actors into the REAL WORLD and see how they cope with a taste of authentic reality! These so-called "celebrities" with their chronic self-obsessed, narcissism are getting unbelievably boring! GROW UP!!! There are people out there (in the REAL WORLD) who have REAL problems, ie homeless people on the streets, poor abused children, starving people in Africa. Get a grip! If you spent less time obsessing about yourselves and more time caring about others (in the way Paul Newman did), you wouldn't be in the predicament you are now!
- BlackBamfBoy85, on 05/06/2009, -1/+2I've known about her condition for awhile however there had to be an alternative for her. Like different medicine regiment or physical therapy or something.
- Chooxo, on 05/06/2009, -0/+1Hot.
