ideagrove.com — Heath Ledger could be the latest star to have died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs (although that rolled-up $20 bill raises questions.) While most celebrity drug deaths have been the result of either suicide or illicit drugs, a surprising number of stars have died by accident from legit meds. Here are 12 of the most famous.

  • SpectralSounds, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Accidental? An accidental overdose would be taking something as prescribed and combining it with something which in turn, is fatal. Or something equally uncontrollable or unknown to the person taking the drugs.

    Taking a bunch of Hydrocodone/Oxycodone and Muscle relaxers/Downers to get a high and then dying is not exactly an accident. In fact, I would go so far as to say it is pretty damn stupid and you are just asking for an overdose. I believe at least some of the people on this list were trying to get a high from opiates and sedatives and took it too far. You've got to know where to draw the line.
