- d00by, on 05/13/2009, -1/+478I was getting worried when I got to number 9 and still hadn't seen Mencia. If he hadn't made the list I would have lost faith in the world.

- comicdigger, on 05/14/2009, -4/+158Gilbert Godfrey may not be as funny as he used to but he still makes me laugh. Other than that this list is dead on.
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -0/+116She's #6. Seriously. Have you ever seen her and Carrot top at the same time?
- felman87, on 05/14/2009, -1/+112Even that chick he's with think he's weird.
- Devine122, on 05/14/2009, -5/+112Jack and Jill went up the hill, each with a buck and a quarter.
Jill came down with two fifty. - Conway, on 05/14/2009, -0/+98I just heard him tell this joke:
A guy walks into a bank and says to the teller, "I want to open a ***** account!"
The lady replies, "Sir. Please watch your language!"
The guy repeats, "I want to open a ***** account!"
The lady rebuffs, "I'm getting the manager!"
The manager arrives and says, "What is the matter here?"
The guy says, "I want to open a ***** account and deposit $500,000!"
The manager replies, "Oh yeah? And is this ***** giving you a hard time?" - orthodoxDrew, on 05/14/2009, -4/+100Gilbert Gottfried is awesome
- colasrtney, on 05/14/2009, -3/+98Gilbert Gottfried is hilarious.
"Sometimes I’d sit and talk to Nostradamus and he’d just sit there go, “I know. I know.” Once I went to movies with Nostradamus. I said, “Boy, what did you think of that ending?” He goes, “What? You didn’t see that coming?” - riptor666, on 05/14/2009, -6/+80C:/DOS C:/DOS/RUN RUN/DOS/RUN
I bet only 1 in a million people would find that funny. Yes that's what we call the Dennis Miller Ratio. - poogy21, on 05/14/2009, -1/+73I used to work for a very well known social-networking website, let's call them MeSpace. And the Sr. Developer of the site's search engine was also best friends with Dane Cook.. That's all I can say.
- MJG2007, on 05/14/2009, -0/+70He looks like a Raggedy Ann doll on steroids.
- apec766, on 05/14/2009, -0/+67Holy *****.
You just *****' blew my mind. - rasbill, on 05/14/2009, -2/+65gilbert is best going off the top of his head, his acts are pretty good but no1 else can make me laugh like he does live on the radio or talk shows, hes just funny to the bone, his impressions are awesome too, i believe he "invented" the seinfeld imitation and everyone how imitates his imitation
- JonnyIsElectric, on 05/14/2009, -5/+67i like mencia. he invented the fishsticks joke.

Sinbad
(Jennifer Graylock/AP)
Maxim picked Sinbad as the single worst comedian in history, and he's landed among the list of California's top tax evaders.
Larry the Cable Guy

Larry the Cable Guy embraces the "hillbilly" accent with "Get 'er done."
Jay Leno
(Frank Micelotta/Getty Images)
Jay Leno has been cracking wise with America on the "Tonight Show" since 1992, but he's been called a sell-out by late stand-up comedian Bill Hicks, who derided his one-time idol as a sellout.
Andrew Dice Clay
(Ethan Miller/Getty Images)
Andrew Dice Clay's popularity dropped after the '80s, and the vulgar comedian has since appeared on "Celebrity Apprentice."
Gallagher
Gallagher has publicly criticized fellow comics, including David Letterman and Robin Williams. His acts feature the signature "Sledge-O-Matic," used to smash random objects, and other zany prompts.
Carrot Top
(Jae C. Hong/AP Photo)
Carrot Top, seen here arriving at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, relies on prop comedy and self-deprecating humor to get laughs.
Dane Cook
(AP/Dan Steinberg)
Dane Cook draws a huge following of critics, many of whom believe he doesn't deserve the audience he's built up. Read about how Cook won over one former critic, though.
Gilbert Gottfried
No one can mistake Gilbert Gottfried's loud, raspy voice. He's appeared in dozens of movies and added the AFLAC duck to his resume in 2000.
Dennis Miller

Some fellow comedians believe Dennis Miller has given up on comedy.
Carlos Mencia

Carlos Mencia has been accused of plagiarism, and his racially charged jokes sometimes draw criticism. - SeanyMac, on 05/14/2009, -1/+61Even the poorly written one about Jay Leno?
FTA: Jay Leno has been cracking wise with America on the "Tonight Show" since 1992, but he's been called a sell-out by late stand-up comedian Bill Hicks, who derided his one-time idol as a sellout.
So, he's been called a sell-out by Bill Hicks who called him a sellout. Oooookkkaayyyy.... - pacman122, on 05/14/2009, -22/+77***** Dane Cook
- marmotjmarmot, on 05/14/2009, -5/+60I used to dig D. Miller...now just another person who think they are more important than they are. Remember the NFL fiasco? WTF?!
- cherylbowles, on 05/13/2009, -21/+75Dane Cook makes me shudder with loathing.
- samanathon, on 05/13/2009, -10/+64I agree with every one of those!
- TheCamino, on 05/14/2009, -35/+85 This list is not complete until they add Sarah Silverman to the list.
And I agree with backing off of Dane Cook. So, he's just not that funny. Doesn't mean that he eats childredn, and is a nazi. - zomgwaffles, on 05/14/2009, -1/+48OH!!! That f*cking wh*re
- SpoonMSU, on 05/14/2009, -1/+47Dugg for a well implemented slideshow that doesn't refresh the page with every click (ahem, FORBES).
- IamNOTmrT, on 05/14/2009, -0/+45My thoughts exactly. Glad he was included but he really should have occupied at least three spots on his own
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -0/+45At first I thought this was just going to be 10 pictures of Carlos Mencia. I'm a little disappointed.
- nedev, on 05/14/2009, -0/+44You poor thing.
- thescimitar, on 05/14/2009, -1/+43True enough about Cook. His Nazism and child-eating have nothing to do with his crappy stand-up act!
- dok333, on 05/14/2009, -0/+40a hostage
- thescimitar, on 05/14/2009, -0/+35"...but he's been called a sell-out by late stand-up comedian Bill Hicks, who derided his one-time idol as a sellout." Apparently the online version of the Tribune doesn't enjoy the services of a copy editor.
- texodore, on 05/14/2009, -19/+54Sinbad? Seriously? Anyone ever seen his HBO specials from the 90s? Hilarious.
- Wormwoods, on 05/14/2009, -0/+34Guys, I think he's trying to imply that he worked for Facebook, if you didn't catch that...
- paku, on 05/14/2009, -1/+35Getting the joke and the joke being funny are two different things.
- TheBigBad, on 05/14/2009, -1/+34Did I really spell "steal" s-t-i-l-l?
Someone please digg me down for such idiocy. - TimDigg, on 05/14/2009, -4/+37Nope, they forgot Kathy Griifin
- absolutelytrue, on 05/26/2009, -13/+45Oh, how I hate meh.
- DrVic, on 05/14/2009, -1/+32Her act is old. There is only so many jokes you can make about sucking black *****.
- Shakermaker, on 05/14/2009, -0/+31A high paid escort?
- imnojezus, on 05/14/2009, -5/+33meh
- zomgflamer, on 05/14/2009, -3/+30How dare you.
- TeeBaagz, on 05/14/2009, -0/+26Muffin top.
- LordVance, on 05/14/2009, -2/+28I don't know, Dane Cook makes me laugh and I don't feel bad about it. Maybe I'm just a happy enough individual that when I put on a comedy show, I *want* to like it - not hate it and spend the next year of my life bitching on the internet about how awful it is.
Sure, he doesn't really deserve the size of his audience. His jokes aren't "intellectual" or even particularly well crafted, hes more jester than comedian (though I did really enjoy his joke about printing the Bible on the God bless you guy). Hes not a comedian I can watch the same act of multiple times and really enjoy, but the first time through I always laugh. Is he the best comedian of this generation? Far from it. Is he an unfunny abomination? No, he isn't.
We sit here and laugh our asses off at video's of monkeys drinking their own piss but then say Dane Cook's jokes are not finely crafted and intelligent enough for us, it's kind of *****. One of the many things that the internet bitches about for no real reason other than the fact that the rest of the internet bitches about it. Guess what, there are TONS of comedians that downright suck - quite a few even get Comedy Central Presents specials, or HBO/SHO specials... that's life. -
