- ceeam, on 10/12/2007, -5/+45The article specifically said: "more intelligent THAN YOU"
- greg544, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38Of course everyone knows that EVERYONE who attends an Ivy League school is more intelligent than EVERYONE who did not.
- Grimdotdotdot, on 10/12/2007, -8/+34Portman can speak two languages, and has got a degree!
SHE IS THE CLEVEREST PERSON I'VE EVER HEARD OF!
Oh no, wait... No she's not. - Quakes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26"Bush did. but is he brilliant than me?"
Oh, the irony. - violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Alternate Headline: 10 Women YOU will never have a shot with
- lubacious, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Worship and apprehension? Don't you think an intelligent woman would just want respect and appreciation?
- slimer369, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Don't forget that Asia Carrera is a card carrying member of MENSA but isn't on this list.
- alanspach, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13they left off wendy from the wonder years
- frem001, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8intelligent woman are sexy, there is nothing worse than chatting to a woman that relies heavily on her appearance... but then i'm sure other men wouldn't be having a verbal conversation.
- gaoshan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8"Never make a clever woman your wife". Oh my gawd, you are so wrong. My wife has a Ph.D., went to one of the best universities in China and is hot to boot.
I thought I would "play the field" for most of my life as I had never dated a woman I thought was interesting enough to want to be around outside of bed. Then I met her. Wow! She is fun to talk to, can hold her own on any subject, she is interested in things that matter (to me, anyway), she has her own mind, etc. A fantastic partner! I won the wife lottery when I met this brilliant, kind, fair, strong, cute Chinese woman. Gimme smart over Paris Hilton/ Brittney Spears any day. - candiru, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5sarcasm - noun - a form of verbal irony, expressing sneering, personal disapproval in the guise of praise.
- yongfookathome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6What people fail to realise is that, (for example) in the case of Ms Portman - she is bilingual, went to an Ivy League university, continued with graduate studies AND at the same time juggled an incredibly demanding acting career around all of it. If that is not mentally taxing, I don’t know what is.
- BaxterG4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Winnie.
- Tarantulus, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Umm, Just because you have a degree, DOES NOT make you intelligent. there is intelligence, and there are booksmarts.I deal with PhD's all day who couldn't find their arse with both hands. Dugg, but the author needs to get wise
- decay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Long live the queen, shes amazing.
- ArmoredFairy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3With comments like these, us ladies really won't be interested in you now, smart or not.
Tisk, tisk boys. - CosmicBratt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3merper, have you ever seen her in interviews? You can tell she's intelligent just by the way she talks. Even at a very young age she was very eloquent. I think her being fluent in Hebrew is quite the accomplishment. Even though she is Israeli, she moved to the US at a very young age, and it's very difficult to keep language skills at the age she left.
Also, as youngfookathome mentioned, she did everything she did while starring in movies and keeping an active acting career.
Way to go Portman! - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"What's the difference in smart -- there are people with degrees that have no common sense. They'll say to you that they saw David Copperfield, and examined him. And that 'we got his fingerprints and weighed them', when a little common sense is all it would take, obviously he's a fake" ~James Randi
There's more to intelligence than an degree from a school, not that I'm knocking it or anything. - brfuk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I remember seeing the chick from Ladytron DJing in an empty electro night in Oxford. More DJs than punters. Before Ladytron took off. However, from what people who know her have said, she doesn't actually have a Phd, she never finished it. Because of the band. (unless of course she's gone back since)
- GinsuGuy585, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4"In fact the only game I know that supermodels excel at involves ***** of cocaine, a parrot that can recite lines from “Ferris Beuller’s Day Off” and seventeen buckets of fake semen - but I do keep rather eccentric company."
Sounds like my friends on a friday night! - rekrapt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Jeez, which one would you like to bone? What kind of crap is this? I was expecting a nice list of smart, beautiful women... not a list that ends with "which one do you want to bone" or whatever. Good grief. Grow up...
- legolasegb, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7I hope you are being sarcastic. Very sarcastic.
- MyKungFu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Your command of logic is mind-bending. And insightful.
- phlydwg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Both beauty and intelligence are relative. :P
- cogen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Boyish haircuts on girls = awesome.
- thedonga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Severn Cullis-Suzuki mmmmmm, sexy
- sophiaperennis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dude, they forgot to include Paris Hilton ! She can operate an iPod !
- tedc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, if you're going to nominate someone like Ada Lovelace, how about Hedy Lemarr?
http://people.deas.harvard.edu/~jones/cscie129/nu_lectures/lecture7/hedy/lemarr.htm
Not every actress sat around in her spare time in World War II pioneering the spread spectrum radio technology used in modern cellular networks.
Also, Vanessa Mae's got some competition in the hot violinist category these days. It would be no stretch to call Sarah Chang one of the top concert violinists alive today, and she is not exactly hard on the eyes, either.
http://www.emiclassics.com/artists/biogs/schb.html - legolasegb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"More Intelligent Than You" so like, what is the author saying about us?
And what happens if one of the women in the article is reading it? Can the title still apply? - DalekoProvidek, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Nothing but Blog-crap. Where is the news in this? Digg is fast becoming a self-congratulatory repository solely for mal-formed opinions. Bah! Need to add a directory specifically for Blog-crap, so people looking for facts can avoid it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ummm...
Scully? - chicksdigme, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I think he left out Pais Hilton and Britney Spears :P
- yuravian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Jeeze! am I the only one here who thinks brains are hotter than looks? I'd date an average looking woman who actually has a brain over any Paris Hilton look alike.
- yongfookathome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1progressive > check out Forbes' top 100 world's most powerful women article. That really wasn't what my post was about though. I'm a sexist, objectifying monster of a human being. It was about the looks.
- naeboo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1u cant be serious, dude.. the crack whore?
- kayas420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1God, the crap women have to deal with: they're objectified even more when they're more intelligent than you. In agreeance with a past comment: grow up! What are you guys, 16?
- an0nym0us, on 10/12/2007, -7/+8Bush did. but is he brilliant than me?
I don't think so. - yongfookathome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1fark clich? Sorry mate, I'm British, and I haven't got a (farking) clue what you are talking about. "Run for the hills" is a melodramatic standard, in use long before fark. Wasn't it born out of some ancient Michael Caine film?
- windex99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I recognized 2 out of all of them. I think it is clear on why.
- merper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2PSYCH major... Also interesting how she's bilingual in Hebrew and ENGLISH(amazing, really).
I actually thought she was smarter before reading this.
P.S. SAT has 0 correlation with intelligence - merper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Eloquence and intelligence are unfortunately not necessarily correlated. Take many politicians(not Bush who has neither) for example.
I'm not saying she's not smart, I'm just saying that I didn't realize her degree was only in psychology. Being bilingual isn't too hard, especially when you learn really young. It's actually easier. I moved to the US from Asia when I was 2 and stopped talking to my parents in the language by the time I was 6 or 7, but 14 years later, I can still remember most of the language from being a kid(although I'd speak with an American accent so thick that I'd be too embarassed to use it in public) - tkking2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3i hope you are being sarcastic :)
if not please kill yourself after realising that you take the digg.com to seriously.
P.S. doesent the text look awesome in this windows you type in? - pawas01, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Sexy, I need them on my bed.. yay !
http://www.columbiashoes.us - andreas1999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How many of them are from America? You would think that a country of that size at least one of them should be american. Or maybe one of them are?
- mjenkins, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2 Natalie Portman is (IMO) far more intelligent than the "article" implies and I'm impressed by Mira Sorvino's accomplishments as well as the Queen. I'm not jealous at all - I consider myself intelligent and good looking and admire women like those on the list.
What's so wrong about blog isn't the singling out of these woman and their accomplishments, it's the sexist, immature and offensive language. - chadwick359, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4... This article made me sad. The comments were worse.
- bzombies, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's Hedley.
- jroppenheimer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"They forgot to add her SAT score...which is 1400. What's yours again?"
-dantedefiance
I didn't know they released her scores. A 1400 isn't that high anyways. - BripeKlmun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Any article on Digg that starts out with a Fark-cliché gets no digg from me. Even if it came from another site.
+1 to DalekoProvidek on the Blog-crap comment. Nicely said, bro. - udar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i know where to look when it times to go wife hunting, until then that article was pretty useless. Just because theyre famous doesnt make them smart, I want to see a hot scientist doing some nasty stuff with a microscope. Now thats hot and smart, Natalie Portman's degree in pysch degree was only there for comic relief, or so i hope.
