- qaesyan, on 10/18/2008, -8/+36The moon huh? Gas where I live is $2.63. You must be the one on the moon considering anyone who keeps up with the news knows oil is down under $75 a barrel now.
- qber, on 10/18/2008, -4/+29Probably New Jersey
- tchiseen, on 10/19/2008, -12/+29Cry me a freaking river, America classically has some of the cheapest petroleum prices worldwide.

Get an electric car and stop bitching. - sjbdallas, on 10/19/2008, -3/+13I haven't paid more than 3 bucks in 2 weeks.
- bagelmaster, on 10/19/2008, -0/+10It's because we don't put as many taxes on it like most of Europe. So you cry US a ***** river.
- teamparadox, on 10/19/2008, -0/+9I think I paid $2.87 for gas Saturday morning and im not on the moon or in new jersey. Friday afternoon it was $2.99 at the same station.
- 1980Tim, on 10/19/2008, -0/+9Just paid $2.29. :P
Oklahoma FTW. - crazyjake, on 10/19/2008, -0/+7we pay less AND we don't have to pump it ourselves... jackpot!
- reyalp, on 10/19/2008, -3/+9I just paid $2.36
- Jb611, on 10/19/2008, -0/+6Except almost every car runs off of it. How the ***** is that obsolete?
- thespiff, on 10/19/2008, -1/+7Yeah but to get those benefits...you have to live in New Jersey.
I hardly think it's worth it. - kcreasey, on 10/18/2008, -3/+9My wife and I saw $2.69 in Georgia last week (Oct. 9th) off of the I-95. It was $3.12 in SC on the 12th, and $3.17 at the hess(?) across the street from Downtown Disney in Orlando on the 12th. Just hit below $3.00 yesterday here in Fayetteville, NC area. And we are supposed to be the state with the highest gas prices in the country!
- Yookji, on 10/19/2008, -0/+5I think California is the anomaly. They have a ton of regulations/taxes that inflate the price of gas.
http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx - Scaught, on 10/19/2008, -0/+5Gas is ~$2.60 in Massachusetts.
- inactive, on 10/19/2008, -2/+7i saw vagina at $2.45 today
- hangman16, on 10/19/2008, -0/+5$2.30 in Minneapolis
- sfgamergirl, on 10/19/2008, -4/+9It's still around $3.65 around SF. I still see $4 plus at some stations. You lucky bastards.
- bradriley, on 10/19/2008, -0/+5Its cheaper than that in Iowa!
- Sp0rAdiC, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx
- DjArcadian, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4In the San Francisco Bay Area the lowest I've seen is $3.39 but it drops a little more everyday.
- wertach, on 10/19/2008, -1/+5Yes, the station has to pay if you use a CC
- hardcle, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4"A merchant may provide a discount to its customers for cash payments."
That's what's happening here. It's a discount for cash, not an extra charge for credit. - DjArcadian, on 10/19/2008, -1/+5All this will just increase prices.
- Jeepinator, on 10/19/2008, -1/+5good idea more federal taxes that will get spent improperly.
- york2600, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4There's some flaws in this plan. States like Wyoming with 3 residents have relatively dirty gas blends compared to California. Switch California over to a dirty gas blend and no one in the state will be able to breath. We've made some progress since the 70s and most people want to keep it that way.
- Yeyui, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4KY, OH, and MI are all at or below that price. In Cleveland prices are as low as $2.50.
- Babassboy, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4It is $2.30 in Springfield MO.
- Ravatar, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4If it shows up on the receipt as a surcharge, no that is NOT allowed per their merchant agreement, the store HAS TO PAY the transaction fee.
From the Mastercard Merchant Agreement:
"A merchant must not directly or indirectly require any MasterCard cardholder to pay a surcharge or any part of any merchant discount or any contemporaneous finance charge in connection with a MasterCard card transaction. A merchant may provide a discount to its customers for cash payments. A merchant is permitted to charge a fee (such as a bona fide commission, postage, expedited service or convenience fees, and the life) if the fee is imposed on all like transactions regardless of the form of payment used."
If you still have the receipts you can report the stores. - browwiw, on 10/19/2008, -1/+5Palin can see the moon from her porch. She'll want to drill there.
- kctimmy, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Kansas City here. gas~ $2.50
buried... - teamparadox, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3I hope by years past you mean just the last couple of years. I remember when it was $0.89 a gallon and im only 26...
I can hear my kids now. They will complain about my gas price stories the same way I complained about my Parents when they spoke of the $0.05 cent Hamburger at McDonalds. - crazzy88ss, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Maybe if somebody made an electric car that went farther than 40 miles?
- BTraina, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3i paid 2.81 yesterday, in dirty jerz
- lesfleanut, on 10/19/2008, -2/+5I paid $2.77 today in southwest Georgia.

...somethin fishy is goin on - ryanschmidt, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3I filled up for $2.53 yesterday and it's down to $2.44 today. I am in NE Ohio
- JHB800, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3My local stations are all at $2.59. They started last week at $2.95.
- 80hd, on 10/19/2008, -2/+5$2.64 north of Indianapolis. But it sucked all summer when we were stuck at $4.29 from May solid through late August.
- aenimaticryan, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3It's $2.29 here in central Oklahoma. Granted, the low gas is one of the only positive aspects.
- neilhicks, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3I'm paying $2.29. I guess that's one reason to like living in the midwest.
- Jeepinator, on 10/19/2008, -1/+4nobody is crying we are saying yay. sorry europe is socialist and taxes the ***** out of everything.
- Bob042, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3$2.45 in MN a few days ago. Also, how would gas on the moon be cheaper? Because of the abundant gasoline oceans and easy accessibility?
- swiftekho, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3The average in Louisville KY is 2.74 right now...
- diggapleeeze, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Sorry man...I'm sure that was a horrid site.

- ericgandhi, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Yeah, I live in Atlanta and I just filled up for $2.69 yesterday evening. It's been dropping a few cents everyday for the last few days.
- Adwt0125, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3Buried for 2.74 in Iowa City
- chickenloco, on 10/19/2008, -0/+3One word. OPEC.
