http://www.jedreport.com/2008/11/ohios-gop-senator ... - jimchap, on 11/03/2008, -9/+24Hmmmmmm...McCain robbed you ***** blind during the keating 5. he takes money from terrorists.
He hired Palin the Socialist and yet you still drink the kool aid.
Remember, if mcCain gets elected and you feel something funny behind you....
It's not his thumb. - paintgrl, on 11/03/2008, -8/+23United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) International President Cecil E. Roberts issued the following statement today:
“Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, have once again demonstrated that they are willing to say anything and do anything to win this election. Their latest twisting of the truth is about coal and some comments Sen. Obama made last January about the future use of coal in America.
“Here what the McCain campaign left out of Sen. Obama’s actual words: ‘But this notion of no coal, I think, is an illusion. Because the fact of the matter is, is that right now we are getting a lot of our energy from coal. And China is building a coal-powered plant once a week. So what we have to do then is figure out how can we use coal without emitting greenhouse gases and carbon. And how can we sequester that carbon and capture it.’
That folks is right from the horses mouth, the coal miners themselves. - niradg, on 11/03/2008, -9/+23How many times are we going to have to debunk this lie today? BURIED. AGAIN.
- asgardshill, on 11/03/2008, -7/+20Why does Freak Republic insert a link soliciting donations to the site owner Jim Robinson at the beginning of every article? Doesn't a quarterly Begathon lasting for 3 weeks bring in enough money? Can't Rim Job keep a few aging servers online for the $250,000.00 a year that his sheep already give to him? Has the Olive Garden raised their prices THAT much?
- ironhide, on 11/03/2008, -4/+10Why are you Freepers gaming Digg?
- inactive, on 11/03/2008, -5/+9It's either this or go back to ***** their sister. And she's too strung out on crank right now.
- algaeturd, on 11/04/2008, -0/+3"Hi! I'm republican! I believe everything that the rightard leaders tell me to believe. Why? Because I didn't get an education! I'm dumb as ***** and I can't think for myself. Not to mention I never studied enough to know anything about government, civics or politics! I make fun of some on the left for believing 'conspiracy theories' such as Iraq not being involved in the bombing of 9/11 but then I believe every single ***** lie that comes down the pipe! "
- JavanSClark, on 11/04/2008, -3/+5This story has already been debunked as a lie. Get a life.
- drshorty, on 11/04/2008, -0/+2It's funny that they keep saying he will bankrupt the coal industry and that's not what he says at all. The problem more or less isn't what he said, it's that conservatives in their sheer stupidity honestly don't think people will believe their own ears.
How they arrive at that conclusion is beyond me. Obama specifically says his caps would bankrupt any new coal plants, and that's in the tape they use. So when they keep saying he'll bankrupt the coal industry and that's not what he says, I wonder if they know the difference between coal "industry" and coal "plants". Or if they even realize his stance on clean coal, which I couldn't see how not he also talks about that in the edited video that was put out. So, no..
Nobody is in denial about what he said. What we're telling you is you obviously have reading comprehension issues or hearing issues, because what you're saying is not what Obama is saying at all.
In this instance it's not even an issue of context, it's merely an issue of repeating a phrase that doesn't even represent what was said. - drshorty, on 11/04/2008, -0/+2You're propaganda cuts out key parts of the interview, and even then conservatives didn't get it right for what was in it. Obama doesn't even say he's going to bankrupt the coal industry, he says his caps will bankrupt any new coal plants--and even mentions clean coal in it so it's not like he's intending to break the coal industry at all.
Conservatives may not be lying or twisting the facts, they could just genuinely be that stupid. It's hard to argue fact, and the fact of the matter is he didn't say that, so conservatives have been the ones jumping to conclusions. Somehow they also act as if their candidate is any better. - JenniferInMO, on 11/03/2008, -8/+10Let me get this right:
Two days before the election a tape (which has been available online since January) suddenly appears on the scene, but only transcripts are available, not the audio (which is still available on the SF Chronicle's site).
Obama supposedly says something explosive and contrary to everything he has said before and it is something that would devastate coal country which is, uh, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Pathetic. Freepers buy anything so they spread the rumor without hearing the tape. Yet it turns out to be an outright lie and another scare tactic.
The lie is debunked, right from the source. http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/United_Mine_Work ... http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Palin_Drudge_RNC ... - drshorty, on 11/04/2008, -0/+2Even though it is in the full interview. Man, you're really trying. He didn't rephrase it, conservatives did. Get a grip on reality at least, he's just informing the rest of the world of your political *****, and you're the one accusing him of it. lol
Prove what he said was wrong though. - asgardshill, on 11/10/2008, -0/+1Why do you care that I care, if indeed I cared at all?
- drshorty, on 11/04/2008, -1/+2Amazing how the conservatives have such dishonest tactics.
Lying is indicative of a small and lazy mind, especially when it's so obvious as to be disregarded off-hand by the general public. What's really indicative of a small and lazy mind is the parroting of a phrase that wasn't even stated. Had any of these people who push the bankrupted coal industry issue actually paid attention, they wouldn't have made themselves look so ignorant of something that was right there for them to look at.
I could give an envelope labeled, "drshorty's favorite color," to a conservative, ask them my favorite color, and they'd ask another conservative before opening the envelope.
The petty tactics have grown so old that even moderates just brush it off as nonsense. - akchrs, on 11/04/2008, -4/+5It's funny that Obama comes right out and says this on a tape, but people are in denial and say he didn't.

The TRUTH shall set you free! Vote for hope. - stonecircle, on 06/11/2009, -2/+3And yet another person who just joined 10/30/08. If you are part of the conservative recruitment to take over Digg, and your intent is to get us to buy into your viewpoint, it is likely to have the opposite affect and will ultimately energize us, unite us, and push us even further left. You can't push etiology down others throats, especially when people have had it up to hear with the policies and attitudes of the far right from the last eight years.
- inactive, on 11/04/2008, -1/+1Joined Digg five days ago. Probably a sockpuppet spammer. *rolls eyes*
- Ayrleig, on 11/03/2008, -4/+4McCain's plan coaxes, Obama's plan destroys. See "bankrupt."
Clean coal burning doesn't even exist and may not if at all, for decades. - stonecircle, on 06/11/2009, -2/+2Given this person just joined the Digg community on October 29th, it sure makes one suspect they joined as part of the conservative call to take over Digg. Why the incessant need to control everything?
- Ironmom61, on 11/03/2008, -1/+1Why do you care?
- Ayrleig, on 11/03/2008, -6/+5Right on. Obama seems to be a kind of a Marxist/fascist hybrid.
Obama: Career Path Toward a Neo-Marxist Presidency
http://investigatingobama.blogspot.com - inactive, on 11/03/2008, -6/+5 There isn't any lie here. Just obama's own words.
Unless you're admitting that obama is a liar. - BuddyOne, on 11/04/2008, -3/+2Not really. It's from the mouth of the President of the United Mine Workers.
One man, trying desperately to rephrase Hussein's San Francisco moment. - nelliemae, on 11/04/2008, -4/+3Amazing how the libs have such filthy language.
Obscene language is indicative of a small and lazy mind. - EZLA, on 11/04/2008, -4/+1The frenzy to bury tells it all doesn't it? The audio is a lie, therefore Obama is a liar ,or the audio is the truth, Obama is caught in a lie.
Lose, lose situation for the libs on dig. The fact that he will tank the 'energy sector' in the United States doesn't faze the true believers.
Obama was happy when gas prices reached $4 a gallon. He will first rape the petrochemical and coal sectors of profits and then eventually the government will take over that entire sector and unionize it, just like his dictator friends have done in other countries. The misery index will rise and consumers will be indoctrinated that it was the energy sectors fault they are paying through the nose for electricity and gas. Of course it will be done incrementally but once it begins it will be impossible to be turned around. - OxAO, on 11/03/2008, -3/+0that isn't debunked it only show McCain is not very bright either.
- wynja, on 11/03/2008, -6/+2***** the coal industry. Have you ever seen a surface strip mine? Yeah, it's the worst thing in the world you could do to a mountain habitat.
- OxAO, on 11/03/2008, -9/+3that video didn't debunk it. At best it shows both canadates are stupid.
- tigercap, on 11/03/2008, -11/+5If 0bama had the experience of Palin, he too might be qualified to run as Vice Pres. of the USA.
Oh, except 0bama's "career" is built on a foundation of fraud and wastefulness and conflicts-of-interests. And, Palin actually wants America to prosper. - Eire105, on 11/03/2008, -14/+5Why does asgardshill insist on spamming? Could it be he's threatened when people don't walk in lockstep with the Messiah of Chicago?
- Sadiebelle, on 11/03/2008, -23/+6OBAMA IS THE WORST. CANDIDATE. EVER.
- allthebest, on 11/03/2008, -29/+12Dependence is NOT hope but servitude and despair. Not wanting what's yours stolen is not selfish but righteous. Obama? No thanks, keep that nasty change.
Envy, jealousy and bitterness are self-destructive and not hopeful. Wake up, America - tigercap, on 11/03/2008, -25/+7Is there any idea about economics or foreign policy 0bama has that isn't completely stupid???
Is there anyone that influenced 0bama's "career" that isn't crooked???
worst candidate ever. - AnAmerican2008, on 11/03/2008, -49/+12'Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!
I, in my bathrobe
With a dog in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.
When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys
They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!
He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink
He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!
' On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi'
He screamed at the pairs!
They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!
So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!
