Actually, this "fail pic" kinda fails itself. It says the item is a clearance item. The stock status is obviously going to be updated before the online services team can remove the SKU or UPC code from the online items database. Anyone who has ever worked retail before understands this. Items get discontinued and then clearanced but still have to be liquidated through the system including regional and national warehouses) until finally once all of the stock is depleted they can remove it from the website. Removing the item from the website and or internal inventory systems while still having some in stock in either stores or online would be pointless and only assure the items would probably never get sold at any price. - feliks2, on 12/03/2008, -1/+23People are digging this? Story buried for inaccuracy. - inactive, on 12/03/2008, -5/+9Another lame submission by Consumerist. The only group that failed (and I am not using it as a noun here) is Consumerist, not Walmart. IT is simply a matter of real time updating of the inventory left, versus non-real time updating of the webpage itself. It is IMPOSSIBLE to do that, and this sort of thing happens to EVERY store from time to time.

Every day I get this crap at my store (not walmart, thank god) and every day people come in with their vapid faces and ask "uhhh, uuuummm I need more of this" and I say "no, it's clearance" and the reply is "well uhhh, umm.... uhhh can you order any more" DIE IN A GOD DAMN FIRE.
