http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_Hits_One_Million_Story_Submissions - 1Bit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Did anyone even read the article?
- Recuso, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10In before everyone starts posting to get their username in a "legendary story."

- theone3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Wow.. is anyone going to talk about the WSJ in here???
.. Probably not. - WiidFiend, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Ugh...my browser crashed while I was editing my previous reply, digg it down.
It should read "In on 'legendary story.' This is actually pretty big news. The Wall Street Journal has a historic look and perspective. Altering it this drastically, especially to place more emphasis on the online edition, underscores the sweeping changes the print news industry is undergoing." - gr0ss, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8GG, digg owns, face it. =/
- ardenr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3To me, just a way for the WSJ to pander more to big business without really looking at it..
More news analysis = 23% more truthiness... - digitalme, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Should be on the front page any minute. Prepare for the deluge.
And by deluge, I mean all of the "legendary" posts, of which this is one. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5The actual paper may have been updated, but the website is still ugly as *****.
- SpikeX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4If I'm correct, there have been more 'legendary' stories on Digg than this one, although it is a significant milestone.
Congrats to Digg.com and all the users who make it an awesome place! Here's to a million more. *raises virtual glass* - Sedako, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Way to go buddy! You win a free pat on the back for a job well done!
- CandidateZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Replacing news reporting with news analysis means a greater focus on controlling the ideas in the readership's brains.
Raw data allows people to make up their own minds, whereas analysis tells them what to think about it. - Zyk0tiK, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Congrats on the 1 millionth story!
- tomi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Any bets on the ratio of comments about the actual story vs comments and congratulations on the fact that this is the 1 millionth story on digg?
- aywwts4, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Yay, more news analysis, more colored charts, less words, less news!
Just what we needed, because... every other news source wasn't enough!
(I thought I would actually talk about the story, just to be different) - aywwts4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It basically sounds like they all got together and "brainstormed" with the two topics of, USA Today is successful. And, how can we copy them?
Less words! More colored charts! More opinion! - theone3, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6You get the traditional interweb present - a cookie! http://wiki.coolmon.org/files/cookie.jpg
- DASH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well if this is the one millionth story... How many comments are floating out there?
- phort99, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For those burying hammydude and puffinfresh, that's Morse code. If you wanna know what they're saying, go to http://morsecode.scphillips.com/jtranslator.html
...I still buried them for being off-topic, though. - Joe091, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yep... just wanted to post in this thread.
- MrSpontaneous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I like the facelift. It seems more intuitive and gets information across effictively...
- Tangaroa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I read it this afternoon and didn't realize it had changed, although I did notice that the paper seemed thinner. The two columns of headlines is a good feature for getting news across quickly and directing readers to articles inside.
I'm a bit worried at the statement that the WSJ is going to concentrate on analysis instead of news reporting because I read it for the news reporting. The WSJ has a good, wide-ranging news organization that often covers stories that aren't covered by other US media. Also because the WSJ's analysis is crap. They have one of the worst editorial pages of any of the major newspapers in terms of having facts and logic backing up what they're saying. - peregrine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well I'm interested. I've always been interested in stocks but the giant paper always intimated me, and well all the numbers and information I cannot quiet handle yet. Its kind of like a person whos never seen C++ before see 1000 lines of it and try to decifer it. Actually this might be a good reason to start looking into stocks.
Maybe not I'd prolly just buy one google and see where itgets me :P - washingtonydc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3A more colorful WSJ? Screw that--the only way to get your pretentious financial news is in colorless black and white or salmon pink a la the FT.
Leave the colorful charts to the USA Today. - DuoPros, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Reply button spam much?
- ZombieFlanders, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Where's the confetti and siren?
Congrats Digg - tine1206, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1congrats digg....1,000,000 stories, including spam?

- overaction, on 07/14/2009, -1/+2It is amazing how fast this article hit the homepage after someone said it was the millionth story.
- mikevickrocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Haha, I thought it was the website, so I was actually gonna post the link to the website, cause it ticked me off that they didn't link to it once in the article. I guess I should read the article next time!
- fyrehart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lol legendary

- cougar618, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'm surprised that this isn't another 'digg everyone down' post.
- iruel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1congrats digg
- akira117, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Congrats
But link to WSJ instead of a big article I'll never read because of the boring title
But thats me - BullTaco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It requires registration because you have to pay to view most of the articles. You don;t like it, then don't go to the website.
It is a pay to view business model because that is the decision that the WSJ management made. Its their choice. There are countless other busniesses that charge money for information.
You pay them money, they take the money and pay reporters to write articles like "Postcampaign Lobbying Thrives Democrats Are FĂȘted Ahead of Push For Stricter Ethics Rules", and "Behind the Scenes, PR Firm Remakes Wal-Mart's Image" (out of today's edition). The writing is considered to be the best, along with the New York Times, as far as daily newspapers go in the US (WSJ more right leaning, NYT more left).
SO those "f$%^$ckers" are real ""f^%*ckers" because they are providing a service that allows people that decide to purchase the service to gain information that you will evidently only possess second hand, if at all. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2WSJ website sux ass. Nice registration *****, one more password I need to remember.
1mil congrats digg!!! - ZenMojo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Smaller, tighter, more colorful. Sounds like my ex.
Speaking of which...does this mean the WSJ is more Fox News less Situation Room? - ardenr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+269th comment on the millionth digg story!!!
I love numbers, they love me. Beautiful, no? - g0tmk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Heres to 1,000,000 more! Congratz digg
