When someone comes and asks to hijack the economy and steal $700B, slapping some oversight doesn't fix the issue. The audacity and insanity that this is even being considered is amazing!
NO ONE has yet presented a cogent picture of exactly WHY the government needs to step in. The best anyone can say is that short term corporate paper for businesses will get tight. Boo hoo. That is hardly a reason to nationalize banks and investment houses under a unitary all-powerful monetary dictator. - mozarker, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2The House votes tomorrow on this new bailout bill. They've added another 150 billion in pork to sway more votes. I guess asking us to shell out 700 billion to ease the huge mistake they've made with the economy just wasn't enough. These are 12 members of the House who voted No the first go round but have indicated that they may change their votes. DON'T LET THEM CHANGE THEIR VOTE! Make your voices heard!
