- markintosh, on 05/19/2009, -0/+8I think the headline's wrong. It should read "Tools use twitter".

raustin you're right, just nickles and pennies - inactive, on 05/19/2009, -1/+5Twitter isn't a technology. Unless you count a basic page displaying what, 140 characters on a constant refreshing basis technology.
- inactive, on 05/19/2009, -1/+5I too hope Twitter goes out of business.
I didn't however twitter that. I refuse to put that much egotistical ***** online every couple of minutes. - inactive, on 05/20/2009, -0/+4Yah, you'd believe that, but you're not. :)
- Grazzit, on 05/20/2009, -0/+4Digg needs a tool to allow me not to display twitter articles...
- mrno, on 05/19/2009, -3/+7We don't need anymore ads and narcissism. Death to Twitter for the win.
- inactive, on 05/20/2009, -0/+4says the guy trying to be all clever, but failing miserably.
- AdeleMor, on 05/19/2009, -3/+6I like the novelty of the idea --- tiered usage of what's already an extremely popular social tool, but what's it gonna do about the nine million free tools/utilities that have already sprung up around Twitter's basic infrastructure?
- mrno, on 05/20/2009, -0/+3That's a great idea!
- inactive, on 05/19/2009, -2/+5Yay! you believe you're important enough to update people on how much of a life you don't really have!!
- dlllb, on 05/19/2009, -1/+4DJMattB241 "I just told people to suck on THAT over the internet, I rule!"

July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008: $250 million, paid quarterly pro rata
July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009: $300 million, paid quarterly pro rata

All MySpace has to do to get the guaranteed payments is make certain search page view requirements. They’ve made those page view requirements easily, says our source, mostly by destroying the user experience."
If Twitter can create a better revenue model I'm all for it, frankly MySpace is one of the most ad-infested places online, if not the most popular and most infested. Twitter is heading in the right direction by not choosing traditional ads as a revenue source (if the article is correct). - lumargin, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1I'll be pretty easy to get Google on board if their tool strategy doesn't work out.
I think they are keeping advertising as a backup strategy. - uberduger, on 05/20/2009, -0/+1The best things are.
- michaelblea, on 05/20/2009, -0/+1Wonder if there's a way to both.
- opiniastrous, on 05/28/2009, -0/+1Hello, I am interested in a dump. However, I don't have access to internet banking and there are no Western Unions where I live? What is your address so I can send you cash by mail?
- joabng, on 05/21/2009, -0/+0

- monkeyrun, on 05/20/2009, -2/+2I agree, they need a lot of tools using twitter to keep twitter relevant.
- Dumbledorito, on 05/19/2009, -3/+3A tool and his money are soon parted.
- raustin, on 05/19/2009, -4/+4that's smart... online ads don't add up to much.
- jackdaniels06, on 05/19/2009, -2/+2Since it just got a new $35 million check from a round of financing and it's growth rate is on fire and even more important, the adoption by huge reputable brand names and corporation from the likes of Bank of America to Oprah Winfrey to the President of the United States, that's not likely to happen. Twitter is here to stay, like it or not.
- mustard333, on 05/28/2009, -2/+1I'm tweeting my disdain.
- scriptcoder, on 05/19/2009, -2/+1So how do you propose users compensate twitter for the services that they use?
- digitalhippie, on 05/20/2009, -2/+1I'm glad to hear that. Ads are soo ***** annoying. New startups need to innovate new business models.
- MavRevMatt, on 05/19/2009, -3/+2Yeah, because everything in life is free.
- robdazomba, on 05/20/2009, -3/+1Says the guy posting egotistical ***** to Digg.
- j0se, on 05/19/2009, -3/+1if you dont like twitter then dont use it and stfu.
- yodaonline, on 05/19/2009, -3/+1Maybe they could combine both...

Suck that as well. - Nouman6, on 05/19/2009, -4/+2Did you tweet that?

- egenus, on 05/19/2009, -7/+0Hating a technology is usually a sign of not understanding it.
