- purplesawdust, on 06/04/2009, -0/+20By Google
- webadelic, on 06/04/2009, -0/+19...they have made no money yet...
- PlusTheBear, on 06/04/2009, -0/+16I do not want to see twitter embedded in Google. Not in my searches, email, or maps.
- Awwzm, on 06/04/2009, -0/+15He better do it while he can.
- erickssm, on 06/04/2009, -2/+14sell it!! get out now, before people realize how stupid, pointless and worthless the service really is.
- MaxxusFlamus, on 06/04/2009, -1/+12translated:
We have no ***** clue how to turn a profit....hell we're pretty damn sure it's impossible to turn a profit. - rwbrinso, on 06/04/2009, -0/+11Well, of course.
- frieddonuts, on 06/04/2009, -1/+10That's been their secret "business model" this whole time.
Just like every other Web 2.0 ***** company. - wesleyzero, on 06/04/2009, -0/+8Of course they'd sell. They have no idea how to monetize Twitter.
- bicyclethief, on 06/04/2009, -1/+8Translation: We can't figure out how the hell to make money so, yeah, we'd consider cashing out.
- gaiserrc, on 06/04/2009, -0/+6One step closer to YouTwitFace.com
- RegularUser, on 06/04/2009, -1/+7Who cares.
- TimtheTaxMan, on 06/04/2009, -1/+6Might as well do it now before this ridiculous fad passes.
- valeriob, on 06/04/2009, -1/+6just put twitter in a brown paper bag, light it on fire, and leave it on your neighbor's doorstep.
It just a place for celebrities to rant and rave without unwelcome stalkers. They should charge $1,000/month for twitter accounts, and free for those only following. - macmcraeart, on 06/04/2009, -1/+6why would anyone in their right mind buy a company that doesn't make any money?
- dagamer34, on 06/04/2009, -1/+6With no business model, I don't see how Twitter is a real company. It's just a bunch of nerds and VCs waiting to get bought out and get rich, then turn Twitter into the next broadcast.com
- inactive, on 06/04/2009, -0/+4what more do you need to know about posting 140 characters??
- bobburn1, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3Bought buy who? Who would want that *****, stupid, unprofitable service?
- lewystud, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3Should have sold 1-2 months ago, popularity/novelty already seems to be slowing
- bdfariello, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3@bdfariello just Google Map'd #stripclubs in #NewYork.
Find stripclubs in your area! - ausfahrt, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3Exactly. Anyone would sell when they have a service that generates no money and no real value.
- rda1441, on 06/04/2009, -0/+3Cash in now before twitter becomes so yesterday.
- fadetoone, on 06/04/2009, -1/+3In the year 3000...
- upick, on 06/05/2009, -0/+2It's a good idea to sell early while the prices are inflated. Just look at youtube, can't make enough money to pay even the hosting bills at $1M per day
- bobburn1, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2But you can't. Twitter is a fad, and a stupid one at that. It will never become profitable. Sure, it may turn a quarterly profit at one point. But in the long term, the return would not come close to covering the investment for any potential buyer.
- xaeon, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2I guess it's time to dig down the back of the couch again.
- shrbr, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2BUY IT AND DESTROY IT
- inactive, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2So you like being marketed to? Aren't you the ultimate consumer..
- vsaint, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2If I were founder of twitter I'd be hawking it too. Facebook got greedy holding out for billions. I'm not sure about how many shareholders twitter has, but if they get offered anything to the point where an individual is taking home $10+mil they should sell instantly.
- Antialias, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2I think with these startups it always makes sense to sell as soon as you can get a descent amount out of it. If you're not wealthy then getting even 2-3 million out of the sale will do a lot for you. They say the first million is the hardest. Once you've locked in your first success then you are free to move on to whatever else you want to pursue. Sure you might stick with it and make billions but you just as easily could end up with nothing. The only other reason to stick around is if you really love that particular business/product and can't see anything else that would make you as happy.
- bluezombie, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2LOL "you'll give us money for this? sure!"
- bobburn1, on 06/04/2009, -0/+2How about he consider making twitter profitable..or at least come up with a viable business model.
- justinbolstad, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1WWDCD?
- RexxHavoc, on 06/04/2009, -1/+2I have a dream... wanna buy it?
nothing really tangable - jfitz369, on 06/04/2009, -1/+2There's value. The real time search results you find at http://search.twitter.com for current topics and trends is useful for marketing. The almost instantaneous feedback you can get from peers is also useful.
You know what's useless - digging up ShamWow stories.
Oh no he diint!!! - MacroDaemon, on 06/04/2009, -1/+2Why is a twitter topic listed under 'most matches'? I bury these as often as possible.
- pook187, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1I've got $.51.
- Gloogle, on 06/04/2009, -1/+2I'll buy it for 0.50 cents.
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1Not me!
- xero9, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1You mean people still haven't figured this out? Oh boy, we're doomed
- inactive, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1What sellouts......another corporate thug.
- tehknotte, on 06/04/2009, -1/+1even me!
- chamorro, on 06/05/2009, -0/+0Not sure why they don't do banner advertising already? How else do they expect to earn revenue? Paid profiles? Twitter Gold/Platinum accounts? Earn some money now before you sell the thing which you're gonna end up doing eventually.
- lex0429, on 06/04/2009, -2/+2Exactly!
i love twitter and think its a great medium for athletes and celebs to communicate directly with the fan base but i dont see a good business model. there are so many ways to interact with twitter i dont even go to the site anymore not to mention there are always issues with page loads because all this money they have hasnt gone into making the site more stable - RudeTurnip, on 06/04/2009, -1/+1Thank you, Ted Dibiase.
- xLSDx, on 06/04/2009, -0/+0Because good is dumb
- winmywii, on 06/04/2009, -1/+1Maybe because they think they could monetize it?
