Truckers Strike April 1, 2008
truckersforum.net — I am sure many of you already know about this, or maybe not. But in the interest of getting information out to those who want to be informed about what is going on, there is another movement being pushed on the CB Radio regarding Truckers shutting their rigs down on April 1st, in protest of the $4.00 Dollar per gallon fuel costs.

- pissedoffsol, on 03/17/2008, -0/+5it's $4.25 here for diesel. that's nearly a $1 more than regular 87. it is absurd.
- antelope803, on 03/29/2008, -0/+1Only You Trucker can send a strong message to the whole country, that you mean business. When it comes down paying $4.00 for a gallon of diesel is really being greedy, by every means. Even for a regular motorist like me, I am feeling the same pain as you do in my little Toyota pickup. Drivers should strike until, there is a "better offer" for posted on the gas signs. EXAMPLE: If the price is $4.00, don't go until the price is down to $2.49 or less a gallon, and stay firm with it. And if they bring it back up again, then strike again like you are going to be doing now. While the strike is on, keep an eye on the stock market too. If it drops more than 500 points, during the each days you are strlking, then we know that it is working. And whatever you do, don't pay any attention to the the "Sissy Media" that says that you efforts are not doing any good. Becuase if they do, just keep on striking until the message is clear. WHen you strike, park your tractors at the edge of you drive with an "On Strike" sign on it, ot be parked at rest areas, places that is visable from a hill to the public eye.
Maybe you might want the, Canadain truckers, to join you as well as the regular motorists who want to join. Trucker, You can Do It!!!

Just a little imformation, from what I heard from a driver. In Modesto, CA for their main transit system [MAX], are getting a diesel for 75-cents a gallon, to fill up their Gillig busses. Now, don't that would irritate some drivers.

- GetShorty, on 03/17/2008, -0/+5I noticed that diesel is $3.75 here in Baton Rouge, LA. Regular unleaded is ~$3.10.
- buddy712, on 03/18/2008, -0/+2Where can I find out more about this strike and when it is going to take place?
- sportsoutlaw, on 03/19/2008, -0/+2We are providing any information we come across in replies to the above link.
Since posting this, there has been a group of truckers in Georgia who officially started shutting down today.

- NTFSS, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1We are gaining support and attention from alot of areas. I personal have made contact with several different organizations and companies to let them know that things must change for the trucking industry NOW... April 1st my company along with several 1000 other drivers, owners, mechanics will protest by parking our trucks at home till fuel comes down and someone listens to our voice in Washington.
1) Regulate our insurance on our equipment.
2) Regulate how much a broker can keep.
3) Put a cap on fuel so price gouging dosent occur
4) Shippers and Recievers must understand our time and equipment is worth something.
5) Recievers must pay for thier own unloading
6) We are not pallet suppliers.
On April 1st if you want change to any of these listed and I'm sure there are more we must SPEAK LOUDLY with unity in our industry. Go to myspace.com/cartracer24 sign the guest book and show you support.... Thank you and God Bless- annettekaye, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1what can i as a broker do to help i can't get shippers to go realisic and am in support but what would help

- kirby99, on 03/20/2008, -0/+1GREAT. Both my husband and my dad are truck drivers. My dad owns his own business and my husband is an over-the-road driver. I know they would join in, and I'd even join in with my personal truck. If we don't protest they are just going to keep raising them.
- BaneMaler, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1There's a war on people with the very region we get our fuel from, hence the absurd fuel prices. Maybe people will think twice about warmongering when they see how it affects the hard working Americans across the country. I'm going to be stocking up this evening because I think you guys should have pulled this a long time ago. Remind the government who they are working for. I support you 100%! You guys need to be posting some videos on YouTube and spreading the message better on the blogs.

Good Morning All,
I've have had a very Long weekend. I'm glad this week has arrived. I've had several calls over the weekend from news media outlets. Bloomburg was probably the biggest so the word is still traveling at the speed of light. I hear alot of' I'm waiting to see what happens. If we all wait to see what evreyone else does we will accomplish nothing. We have to shutdown and make a stand. Now is the time to take action. If we dont speak for ourselves who will the ATA,OOIDA. They care enough for us to wash thier hands of this protest. But send them your money they will speak on impotant issues. I'm tired of paying Lumpers to unload my truck,I'm tired of high insurrance, I'm tired of waiting to for hours in a dock with no pay, Brokers keeping money that was intended for fuel. We should all be tired and it is time we let them know. By now everyone knows about the protest. But we need to keep on the support. My own local news station reported last night on this but they have it wrong. This protest isnt a one day protest. This protest is all week and longer if needs to be.This protest is not aimed at the public we want public support. This protest will be the biggest protest ever accomplish by the American Trucker and we plan to speak loudly. God Bless you all thank you for your support.
