- juankovo, on 04/29/2008, -1/+2News Flash: When you allow your government to create as much new money as it wants, it will create as much new money as it wants. When your government creates new *money*, it is not creating new *wealth*, just making all of *your* money worth less.
Our government is maxing out several billion-dollar credit cards every day so that our elected officials can impress us with all of the wonderful things they've brought to our communities. Don't imagine that this specter can continue forever. The world is rapidly losing faith in our dollar. Fiat currency (a currency whose value is declared by the government rather than by being backed by a tangible commodity) is perfectly fine – as long as you can trust the government not to simply create more of it when the coffers run low.
