step 4) profit! - inactive, on 11/27/2008, -0/+7Last Black Friday I stood outside for three hours in the rain outside of gamestop early in the morning trying to get a Wii. They ran out about four people ahead of me. The next week I walk into target and find Wiis in stock and I just casually bought one.
Little tip, don't shop on black friday looking for crap that's high in demand. Take advantage of the sales with stuff that's not high in demand. - musntSurfatWork, on 11/27/2008, -0/+6Can someone explain to me what the 174th, or the 226th, or the 498th person are in line for- to buy on that day?
year '92 screen wipes? open packaged fake processed leather Original Nintendo DS pouch holders? Prima strategy guide to Black&White? - badenglishihave, on 11/27/2008, -0/+6You know what you should be doing during this credit crunch? Saving, not spending.
Screw surviving "Black Friday," we should be worried about surviving the next couple of years. - Pandalume, on 11/27/2008, -0/+5Looks like someone is going to find a lump of coal in their stocking this year...
- vandernderyid, on 11/27/2008, -0/+5Since when is stuff from Japan cheap?
- tomato3017, on 11/27/2008, -0/+5Best Buy has ***** of an ad this year...
- redxii, on 11/27/2008, -0/+5I usually stay home, never really anything I need.
- 42Vindictive, on 11/27/2008, -0/+5Americans... What do you get, like 4000 days off for Thanksgiving?
- telfy, on 11/29/2008, -0/+4Its not cheap if you can't afford it
- Lynx77777, on 11/27/2008, -0/+4I'm gonna stick to robbing tramps and giving stuffed farm animals as xmas gifts, worked for me so far...
- diecastbeatdown, on 11/27/2008, -1/+5yea, there really is no point since most decent places give out vouchers to the first group of people in line. staples has the best system for it where they walk down the line one by one until all their sale item vouchers are gone, first come first serve. and once you have those tickets they let you leave if you want (depends on the store).
- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -0/+4Start investing in pumpkin futures.
- pstroll, on 11/27/2008, -0/+4I'm buying the my family assault rifles for Christmas.
- getbusyliving, on 11/27/2008, -0/+4Do you guys have Boxing day down there? The day after Xmas; it's the big day/week of savings for us here in Canada. Seems really strange that your biggest savings day is before Xmas, wouldn't they be still trying to gouge you?
- asgardshill, on 11/27/2008, -0/+4Many of us get 4 days off (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) for the Thanksgiving holiday. Many places such as grocery stores are open throughout the holiday because those are their biggest sales days. Banks usually HAVE to open back up on Friday because there's a law that says they can't be closed more than 3 consecutive days. And the usual service orgs like hospitals and fire stations are open 24/7.
- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -0/+4That girl in bed with a bunch of bananas and a laptop... I doubt she's doing any holiday shopping.
- Olfster, on 11/27/2008, -1/+4I agree, why are you standing in line, at 3 in the morning, if you are beyond person number thirty? They only have 10-30 items at the discount price. It is a game the marketers play and the suckers, dare I say less brilliant members of our society, are more than happy to play also. I drove by some of these lines a couple years ago, it looked like they were sleeping in their own piss just to get a $100 discount on a flat screen tv that would probably be discounted $500 on January 1st. I just could not believe the stupidity of the masses. I was literally creeped out that these people walk among us.
- theradical, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3here's your black friday survival guide: computers and ipods last more than two years, and no one needs a roomba. don't spend money on crap you don't need, we're going into a depression remember?
- Spoomeister, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3Dugg for not simply being satisfied with a stuffy old "bah humbug".

- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -0/+3December 26th is one of the busiest shopping days in the US, too... but a lot of that is people returning/exchanging unwanted xmas gifts.
- Bauer22, on 11/27/2008, -2/+5It's doesn't matter where you are in line, just if you have running shoes on and a good left hook.
- loggedout, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2Crap, I didn't know it endangered my life.
- TimDigg, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Is it just me or none of the black friday deals are really deals at all...
the only real deal I saw was the Antec 900 case for 60....at newegg - Spoomeister, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2Am I the only one who just surfs all their friends' and relatives' Amazon lists, buys an item off of that, and then gets gift cards / gift certs for the rest?
Really, the object I obtain by December 25th isn't the point, with my friends and family. It's the phone calls, time spent at parties in person hanging out and eating and chatting. The shopping is half habit, half custom.
I'm very fortunate in that I don't have friends who need The Latest Cool Thing(tm), or who need some exotic handmade something-or-other, to feel loved. Doubly so that my kid is happy with toys at all, and not demanding something he saw on TV, and just wants someone to play with him like we do with him every other day of the year. They don't need things to feel loved. They just need love, to feel loved. - bwinebarger, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2I love mint. Great site.
- cdbeshore, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2i had planned on getting up for this for a washer and dryer from sears. Then, i just checked online and they are selling early. Bought them. I love the internet. I will be sleeping now!
- edealeasy, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2check Edealeasy! Do the Black Friday shopping now!
- louiebaur, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2Um I am going the lazy route screw the crowds its all about shopping from home for me!
- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2I was gonna do this a few years back, to get me one of dem $200 laptops. 10 per store. My buddy and I got there at about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night, figuring we'd be absurdly early... boy were we naive. There were about 150 people there, and the guys in the front of the line had been there since early morning.
Went home and slept a good night's sleep. Fark that. Getting an almost-obsolete-already laptop for dirt cheap (hopefully) is not worth crapping in a bucket, sleeping on concrete in 10 degree weather (midwestern city) and missing thanksgiving dinner. - postalblowfish7, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2stay home.
- eelwrolyat, on 11/27/2008, -0/+2Last year I went to Best Buy at 4:00 a.m. and stood in line for just an hour. I went in and got a 32" LCD tv for $450 that was originally priced at $1000. I love black friday.
- thegman3, on 11/27/2008, -1/+3This is a good survival guide.

4) add spam websites.
5) ?????
6 ) no increased hits for said websites - jeffvvisoft, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1It's just hype, and a reason for most people to spend a day off from work... at the mall.
Sales at retailers may not be that good, but expect good numbers from Sbarro and Taco Bell. - Elranzer, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1I work at a hospital. Just one day off for me :'-(
