- lccat, on 02/16/2009, -0/+13Sounds like another Elitist Politician paying off his Elitist Political Contributors and Special Interest Groups with very if any concern for United States Citizens!
- Harvester1, on 02/16/2009, -0/+11I did read it, Zach, but of course you're right!

- inactive, on 02/16/2009, -0/+9"Nothing in common with any of the deemed as successful financial crisis programs." This is why Geitner gave no details on the banking bailout and spoke in cryptic language. He said "we will have to try things never done before." I guess so. The Democrats in collusion with the Obama administration is a run away freight train.

- emmettgolf, on 02/16/2009, -0/+3In two years, when Obama's stimulus money hits the streets and bridges, the dollar will be worth less than half of what it is now because of all of the money being created to do this. You are being impoverished while the banks that caused this problem are being enriched.

Although Yves Smith (the author) usually seems relatively politically neutral, if she has any bias it is usually for the Democrats more than the Republicans. Despite that, she is not very fond of the plan (as you can see). She is one of the experts that predicted the banking crisis before it happened. Also this is a slightly old post. I posted it in digg a while ago. I don't know why it is only getting dug now. Her more recent posts on the subject are also good (As are her older posts).
- zacharytelschow, on 02/17/2009, -0/+2I think the destination is that approaching cliff, but who's to say.
- PuterPrsn, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2I get the impression that what Obama is after is to bankrupt the middle class. Spend so much money that the only way to get out of the hole is to put in a 45% or more income tax to pay for it all. Control all weapons, and especially ammunition. And "nationalize" every major industry. With those out of the way plus owning the census to control the government purse strings and electoral college, we'll end up as just another broken country under a socialist regime.
- BillE3, on 02/16/2009, -0/+2Heading down a set of tracks on a bridge to nowhere.
- zacharytelschow, on 02/17/2009, -0/+1It'll be amazing if the dollar is worth half what it is today as we've doubled the money supply in the past 6 months or so and it's going to get worse.
