- NMRgentleman, on 06/16/2009, -0/+1This article is talking about getting money, usually from a government, to purchase "green" equipment or make "green" changes to your business. But I think you're right, if the changes were really economically beneficial to the company, they would probably either do it on their own, or take out a loan to do it. They wouldn't need taxpayer money. And to the extent this is federal money, we're running an enormous federal deficit right now - are programs like this really worth borrowing from the Chinese or inflating away our currency to pay for?
- christoast, on 06/16/2009, -1/+2It's not a matter of if, the future is green no matter what you think. The tax payers are paying for a cleaner, more responsible take on the environment. If a company could use solar power but doesn't want to fork over a bunch of money to get the same power output, here is an opportunity. Its probably something that would pay for itself - people just aren't willing to make the leap. The government helps the process along, Everybody wins.

- Barackalypse, on 06/16/2009, -1/+1I'm going to suggest that if you've got the time to waste trying to find ways of of making more expensive electricity options somewhat less expensive with other people's money, your business has far more pressing issues to address. If your business happens to be selling or install alternative energy equipment or locating grants for said installs, feel free to disregard the above thought.
- stutimandal, on 06/16/2009, -1/+1So money get generated out of nothing? You have a new business idea and someone pays you for it and doesn't ask for profit (but just reports on progress)? How does that work?
