kylebunch.org — Mini's UK marketing efforts created this multi-site banner campaign, with a car driving from one site to the next (with redirects moving the user along the way, after they clicked). Good way to entice users to click -- but where's the payoff to reward users for all those clicks?

  • blogebrity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Honestly, I was really excited when I first saw it -- but as I inspected it more, it was kind of a letdown.

    Obviously, the concept (taking users on an 'adventure' of sorts across various sites) is dicey -- especially if the various sites are of limited interest. I guess I just wish they could have done more to encourage users to interact with the various sites the ads were placed on, as opposed to giving just one main action -- click to move along to the next site.

    But an interesting concept, and one we might very well explore for a client sometime in the future. Could be particularly effective if it took users through different destinations on the same large site (i.e. different sections of the N.Y. Times, or different Yahoo! properties).
