- inactive, on 11/30/2008, -0/+48I bet the government would offer more if Yahoo claimed they couldn't meet obligations.
- piratearggghhh, on 12/01/2008, -0/+30Microsoft getting in on Black Friday/holiday doorbuster discounts. Over 50% off the initial $44 billion sale!
- Surferess, on 11/30/2008, -2/+25I'm sure they are terrified.
- oda1, on 12/01/2008, -4/+22Yahoo is still around?
- TMTurtle, on 12/01/2008, -0/+16Yes, Microsoft and Yahoo are massive failures.
You're the success story here. - howsyamaschooks, on 11/30/2008, -0/+15Pocket change...
- MCA2142, on 12/01/2008, -0/+15MS: "Let's sprinkle some crack on Yahoo and get out of here."
- 2Bnor2B, on 12/01/2008, -0/+11Please...Please...Please...
{Desperate Yahoo stock holder} - winry, on 12/01/2008, -2/+12kinda ironic to read that from tech.yahoo.com
- liquisoft, on 12/01/2008, -0/+9This is why Yahoo's CEO "resigned."
He ***** up a deal that'd be crucial to them, and now they're stuck with half as much as they were originally offered. - MScrip, on 12/01/2008, -0/+7And the Yahoo users.
- trik, on 12/01/2008, -0/+7... there is already an update on the article saying that there will be no purchase... had to bury as inaccurate, not to mention it's a user submitted story/summary of the actual article by the times....

CNN MONEY:
A report in the Times of London in which Microsoft would buy Yahoo's search business in a convoluted $20 billion deal that would include well-known Internet execs Jon Miller and Ross Levinsohn, is -- in the words of one key player -- " total fiction." - NOFXY, on 12/01/2008, -2/+9If microsoft does buy out Yahoo i'm going to stop using their -oh wait.. nevermind.
- edwinjose, on 12/01/2008, -2/+8Warren Buffet's guru Graham used to warn against investing in companies that try to expand hugely by buying other businesses, because it shows an inability for the company to develop new businesses in house. Software has a very low barrier of entry, MS has the best minds working for them and still they can't make it happen... *sigh*
- kingmanic, on 12/01/2008, -0/+6Sometimes its not the software. Much of what Yahoo has MSN has as well. What MS is trying to buy is the yahoo brand.
- inactive, on 11/30/2008, -0/+5It's just negotiation....
- omarciddo, on 12/01/2008, -1/+6Alright, I've always wondered what goes on in the minds of people like you so I'll ask: just why does Microsoft buying out Yahoo! make you so damn terrified that you would seriously cancel all your Yahoo! services? Where would you go, Google? Those guys that would love to know every damn thing about your life that they could possibly get their hands on so they can advertise to your deepest, darkest fears? Tell me this, does the thought of touching anything Microsoft really make you so disgusted that you would really cancel your Flickr or Mail accounts with Yahoo (I'm assuming those are the services you're talking about, don't really see anything else of value at Yahoo)? Seriously, I'd love to know.
- badqat, on 11/30/2008, -2/+7Well, makes as much sense as the other "bail outs" we've been doing.
- Akraz, on 11/30/2008, -3/+8k w/e
- fugazied, on 12/01/2008, -0/+5I use their video and search apis, their site-explorer (to see incoming links to a website), their search (occaisionally), flickr api, their yui JS framework and a couple of other things. Yahoo has created some great free tools. They will be mostly destroyed by microsoft I bet.
- DickyT83, on 12/01/2008, -1/+6lol you just got rocked by a girl.
- preppypoof, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4k w/e = okay, whatever.
- MCA2142, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3You are so innocent.
- meghalc, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3Well,the company isn't worth what it used to when the original offer was made.
- lohphat, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2We're talking the search engine here, not the other features.
- halo3d, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2why are rumours digged.. WTF
- macslut, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2Please stop doing this. It's about as tiring as being rickrolled.
- Jiuzton, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2k w/e isn't defined yet.

next time Ill have to bust down the door and trample someone to get the comment in first. (is it too soon for that humor?) - PeteDavis, on 12/01/2008, -1/+3Looks like they're not giving up easy....or is this just the rumour mill working overtime again
- drgmdp, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2you're kinda late to the party if you still think google is just a search company....
- thejokker, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2bought in at $10, up 18% so far
- cnot3, on 12/01/2008, -1/+3If they are doing it NOW then how come it's a rumor?
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2I think if Yahoo agrees to move their offices to Detroit, and turns car plants to computer servers, the government should give them $40B dollars and run credit in the US, and we can all start farming for communal food.
- spoon088, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2I use my gmail account for spam sign ups and Yahoo for real stuff. That might change soon.
- AllHereTruth, on 12/01/2008, -0/+2Google is not...nevermind

- jeffvvisoft, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1Microsoft: Yang-Hooooooooooooooooooo!
- jack12345678910, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1indeed, yahoo wont be dying anytime soon. i always believed that if microsoft wanted to battle google, then it HAS to buy yahoo. and i do believe microsoft wants to battle.
- MScrip, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1Hmmmm, Microsoft owning Flickr...
Thoughts? - Darkyuubi, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1Ouch bud. Should have got out when King Jerry decided to take the wheel.
- kraftj, on 12/01/2008, -0/+1I think it's weird that a rumor about Yahoo is appearing on Yahoo's web site.
