- ajifans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5It's different with original paintings. With paintings the art is contained within the painting and it's brushstokes and making a copy of it would be of limited value.
However with shakespeare the art is within the words not how they have been written down. E.g. Shakespeare could be appreciated if it was read from notebook written with a bic biro. - Steelfox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's it?
- Gus1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1aventrix, "The book is one of about 40 complete copies known to exist and one of the few in private hands." Whereas with a painting there would only be one. 40 x 5.2 = $208 M .... slightly more than those paintings you mentioned.
- dpk87, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2$5.2 sounds cheap for something like this.
I've heard of original paintings going for over $100 million. - rowlodge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0first time i read shakespear i cried at the end...
