Own a vine. Save a job at Stormhoek wines in South Africa
stormhoek.co.za — You can buy a vine for $270 (R2000), and the best thing about this is that you will get your money back when the current debt to the suppliers is repaid. You will get a certificate with a photograph of your vine and your name, plus a bottle of wine made from the crop of the vineyard block containing your vine. This will change lives.

- rossouwh001, on 02/19/2008, -0/+3Agreed Jason. Done!
- DaveDuarte, on 02/19/2008, -0/+3How can we spread the word and get this to the front page??
- TristanOwen, on 02/19/2008, -0/+3I posted a few thoughts on the Muti thread. Maybe we can generate some creative ideas and help put them into practice, could make for an epic story in itself.
- MarkusGarvey, on 02/19/2008, -2/+3Subsidize a winery?...In South Africa?....i don't think so......i don't think that i would have too hard of a time finding a more worthwhile cause to donate $270 to in S.A....i could go on and on, but i wont.....sorry no digg...
- JBagley, on 02/20/2008, -0/+1Markus, do a little reading about the situation. It has almost nothing to do with the winery, but to do with saving people's job. Farmworkers struggle these days to find jobs and they normally have large families to support off their pay.
People also go on about finding a better cause to donate to or this cause is more worthy than another - every little bit helps, no matter what the cause!

- ChrisRawlinson, on 02/19/2008, -0/+4Is a fab cause to help pay back debts left unpaid by the UK distributor who sadly went under, not to help fund the Vineyard. This is about saving many many peoples livelihoods who stand to lose everything for something that was nothing to do with them or Stormhoek. I work for Stormhoek and I’m putting my own cash in to help. If anyone has any good ideas or any questions feel free to email me at chris@stormhoek.co.za
- ucfbassguy, on 02/20/2008, -0/+2So is this a co-op situation?

This is no donation, your contribution will be paid back with interest. It's simply a way to help out a small winery in SA right the wrongs of a conglomerate in the UK.
Good luck to the guys @ Stormhoek - andyhadfield, on 03/07/2008, -0/+1All my support! Blogged and dugg!
Pity, but we have competing digg stories... dupes.
