- rootnik, on 01/06/2009, -2/+154Farewell $1.50 gas. We hardly knew ye.
- tedjar, on 01/07/2009, -4/+128There is NO FCKING OIL in any of the areas affected by this conflict.... I'd like to shoot these speculators who are driving up prices for no reason.
- nickceleb, on 01/06/2009, -1/+109Here we go again.
- tgc1, on 01/07/2009, -1/+68In other news, a man in the middle of nowhere farted today sending the price of oil upward for no reason at all. Leading many to speculate that the oil market is in fact controlled by a bunch of selfish, greedy, arrogant bastards. And now over to Jim with the Weather.
- u8myfoood, on 01/07/2009, -3/+64Gasoline degrades over time, it is not wise to keep it stored up.
- FishHammer, on 01/07/2009, -3/+57god damnit, I kept telling my parents to fill up hundred gallon drums when gas was $1.49 but nobody listens to me.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -12/+50oil drop before election, oil go up after election. same trend. anybody who thinks oil isn't manipulated is naive. and is sheep.
- reallytempting2, on 01/06/2009, -3/+38but but ... i've got used to my cheap oil again!

Gas does degrade overtime, stop being a conspiracy theorist. - davidrools, on 01/07/2009, -2/+30*****. It's all just excuses for running the prices up. The oil speculation/futures market is regulated by the investors, so they really do charge whatever they want. Them and OPEC have a complete price fixing strategy that just pretends to follow market demand.
- EntangledPhysx, on 01/07/2009, -2/+25There is a reason, and it is this: They are ***** greedy *****.
- borez, on 01/07/2009, -7/+27It was $147/barrel last July, it's now $48.5... let's get things in perspective here people.
- Noooooooooooooo, on 01/07/2009, -0/+18You called?
- SupaFlyTNT, on 01/07/2009, -0/+17While your logic is correct the recent research shows different; driving is still down even with the prices.
- Amazetbm, on 01/07/2009, -0/+16Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I was still driving like it was $4.00/gallon any way..
- jsmith39, on 01/07/2009, -1/+16Oh look once again, something/anything completely unrelated to oil shipment/production is happening and our honorable wall street investors are using it to take the few cents I have left out of my pocket. Again.
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -3/+18Dear Obama,
Please remove the oil speculators as they are ***** us all. Thank you. - tidu, on 01/07/2009, -0/+14I'd like some perspective on why it dropped $100 in less than 6 months
- souljaboytellem, on 01/07/2009, -0/+14I don't know why you would have done that
- d3dm, on 01/07/2009, -0/+13You might want to get your car smug tested.
- Kanten, on 01/07/2009, -0/+13OPEC excuse of the week.
'This will cause supply disruption of all that oil coming out of Gaza!' - CarlSD, on 01/07/2009, -0/+13It seems like every time a camel farts in the Middle East it affects the price of oil.
Any excuse will do... - IrishJoe, on 01/06/2009, -15/+27My Jewish friends and neighbors want the Gaza War to end and object to the blockade that preceded it and contributed to the hostilities which precipitated it. Many of them realize that this is emboldening anti-Israel political groups in Muslim countries which currently have good relations with Israel: primarily Turkey, Egypt and Jordan. If the population in those countries rally behind anti-Israeli political factions it will only hurt Israel in the long run. The quicker this is ended and food, utilities and medical attention allowed into Gaza the better for all but the anti-Israel camps. In Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was facing harsh criticism over his handling of the Iranian economy, but thanks to the Gaza War his tough talk against Israel's treatment of Palestinians in Gaza is winning support among the Iranian people and his critics are losing supporters. Also the trouble in the Mid East is driving up the price of oil which is relaxing the economic problems in Iran (and worsening the problems in countries like the US). This Gaza War is also hurting Israel and hurting the United States because the Bush Administration gave them the green light to attack and won't criticize them for deaths of civilians so world criticism of the US and Israel is increasing. The only ones profiting from this are anti-Israel groups and anti-American groups who are gaining supporters. Bush and the leaders in Israel are playing right into the hands of Ahmadinejad and others who oppose Israel. They would be wise to end this thing now.
- souljaboytellem, on 01/07/2009, -3/+15yes, because that has to be the safest thing to do
nothing could go wrong, right? - BlueAyez, on 01/07/2009, -3/+15Still don't think breaking the oil habit is worth it?
- joe122370, on 01/07/2009, -0/+11farewell $1.35 here
Israel and Palestine don't produce oil so where's the disruption causing the fluctuation? - wang1011, on 01/07/2009, -1/+12Those hundred gallon drums would probably cost more than the extra money you'd be spending on the $4 gasoline
- redxii, on 01/07/2009, -0/+101. Drop pants.
2. Get anally ***** with crude oil lube.
3. ????
4. You certainly aren't the one profiting. - Ninh, on 01/06/2009, -1/+11There still seems to be enough credit for speculation. Time to dry up that swamp.
- wtfmate112, on 01/07/2009, -5/+13*****
- monkiboi, on 01/07/2009, -1/+9This has to raise oil prices why again?
- bumcheekcity, on 01/06/2009, -5/+12"Good" 32 mpg? Sheesh, we can tell you're an American.
- EntangledPhysx, on 01/07/2009, -1/+7Not simple when all the affordable cars have bigger/less fuel efficient engines. You think because we are Americans, we are all rich? ***** you. We can't just go out and buy a new damn Prius every time gas prices go up. Are cars free in your country? Not in America. I can only afford older/used cars (esp. hard when nobody will finance you a newer car), same with all my friends, and everybody else I know.
Not simple. I drive a 4-banger, and gas still hurts me really bad. In America, everything is FAR AWAY. So get pissed off because Americans have to drive longer distances to get to places we NEED (College, work, food, etc).
And I wont stop "whining." Why can't energy be affordable? - bushout, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6It's not their fault, they're just speculating on the other speculators speculating on oil.
- owls27, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6I think it's more for the holiday season. Huge drop during Thanksgiving and then after we've all pushed that extra coin into retail for the holidays, it goes right back up.
- tidu, on 01/07/2009, -0/+6Sounds like someone watched Sunny last season...
- Louis11, on 01/07/2009, -1/+7Yea never mind you drive around with a big ass tank nearly every day.
- Leviathan433, on 01/07/2009, -1/+7at least there is lube...
- SilverBlade2k, on 01/07/2009, -4/+9Maybe the rising price of oil is a GOOD thing. People stopped buying SUV's/Hummers in favor of fuel efficient cars like the Prius, and pushed companies into producing greener technologies. Maybe, if the trend is going up again, more pressure will be put on a replacement of fossil fuels, and hopefully, another rise in gas prices will be the final nail in the SUV's/Hummer's coffin.
- veriix, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5IT'S RAININ SIDEWAYS!
I'm sorry that was Ollie Williams, Jim is on vacation this week. - DTJunkie07, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5Why is always the question. Think for yourself, question authority. Don't forget that.
- SuperCujo, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5Or when New Orleans has some windy days
- SuperCujo, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5The Gaza bombings are fake???
- snotrokit, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5ssssh people are trying to get rich at our expense. again.
- Ne007, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5***** it....back to my motorcycle as soon as weather permits...
- G-RaZoR, on 01/07/2009, -1/+6Day man, fighter of the Night man!
- inactive, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5Don't torch your car yet. These bumps won't hold for much this year, the second wave of mortgages defaults is still to come.
- SupaFlyTNT, on 01/07/2009, -0/+5it's true; it's the same reason I have to stabilize my gas in my motorcycle each winter and trust me not using stabilizers definitely affects my performance and starting it up in the spring. You can store it for a while but it does degrade.
- Solkre, on 01/07/2009, -2/+6I'm not driving more, why are you zjbird?
- weeFred, on 01/07/2009, -0/+4Yes you're correct but the market changed. Confidence in the supply of oil changed, that's why the price went up.
