oh god.. I have never complained about mistakes with "there" and "they're" posts but EFFING A!! It's "they're" NOT there. "There" is an indication of location. "They're" is short for They are. I hate the grammar and spelling Nazi just as much as everyone else but DEAR GOD you made the mistake not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES!! its not that hard, believe me. My grandma could probably learn the difference in less than a minute and she doesn't even speak English.
/waits to get buried - maglob, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16I love the fiesta, as a poor student in the south of England a fiesta is the best option for me (although mine only costs a few grand and is about 9 years old). I wouldn't mind driving a car like this when i finally get my degree and a real job. Better than some horrible massive American car like a Cadillac or a SUV that seems to be a fashion statement car at the moment for some reason
- DTJunkie07, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9The mazda 2 looks a hell of alot better.
- onixxino, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Looks just like a new version of a hatchback ford focus.
- edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Model T?
- aidenuncle48, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6What current model Ford Fiesta from the UK looks like...
http://www.autoblog.com/photos/ford-fiesta-uk/ - interrelate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5What's so special about it?
- scabbers, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7@ Maglob if you can afford to run *any* car in the UK you're not poor at all :P

You know how much maintenance on older European luxury cars costs? Trust me, I've had old Audis and Mercedes, and I also have an 01 BMW. Once the car goes past about ten years old, stuff breaks constantly. And when it breaks, since the cars aren't that common, you have to get a remanufactured part from Germany and it takes 3 weeks to get there while you rent a car (ironically, probably a Ford Fiesta or similar). Trust me, if you have a low budget on a car, don't buy an older European car, because the repair bills go through the roof the older the car gets. - terranaut, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The Escort is a completely different model. The FWD (81 onwards) models (mk3-mk6 until the death of the model in Europe) have been based off of the Mazda 323 platform, continuing in North America based off of the Mazda3 platform.
The Escort existed in Europe in RWD form from 1968-1980 (MK1 & MK2), The MK1 Fiesta was introduced to the British market in 1976. - newl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@bigfkncee
I agree. The Focus ST that the U.S. currently has is nothing compared to the Volvo powered I5 turbo Focus that the rest of the world has. It's a rather hot little hatch that really surprises others with its performance. I've got a mate that's got one (200KW at the front wheels running the BlueFin flash tuner) and it keeps up quite well with my stock 220RWKW (295RWHP) FPV F6 Typhoon. - rento, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I agree... what so damn special about it?? It's just a cheap city car...
For the US diggers: pimp that ride dude! - Y0tsuya, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Seeing that Ford European division is doing fine while domestic operations are getting slaughtered, I'd say they're doing something right over there.
- Sube6491, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2WTF?! The current Fiesta shift knob is EXACTLY the same as the $30,000 Mustang GT here in the U.S.! *****.
- Y0tsuya, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Bury for repeated butchering of the English language.
- itjamesd, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6well it can always mean the following:
***** Only Rolls Downhill
Fancy Oil Recycling Device
Found On Rubbish Dump
***** Over Road Disaster
***** Over Redone Dodge
First On Recall Day
***** On Race Day
Fix Or Repair Daily
Found On Road Dead
First On Rust and Deterioration
Frequently Overhauled, Rarely Driven
Fast Only Rolling Downhill - mdnash, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8is it jsut me or is that car a focus?
- bigfkncee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4only the "toned down vanilla flavor" focus that the USA gets sucks.....in europe and beyond, the focus is a pretty tuff little car....i see it in rally racing all the time turbo charged to 300hp..... .and yeah, it(the fiesta) does look like a mini focus
- mfratt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@itsme92
I also have an 01 BMW, but I bought the warranty. $2600 for an additional 4yrs/48k miles. - bslade, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1my friend had one in high school and we successfully evaded 3 pine pigs on dirt roads.
- b-dizzle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Cheap, good gas mileage. The real news here is the fact that we may be getting an American car that doesn't suck.
- joltjake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2yeah, looks like a mini focus, but hell, I'd drive it.
- paulajohnw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I cut the top, windshield and doors off mine. Run it over my 50 acres in VA. Cant beat it for the price.
- thtroyer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The old Festiva/Fiestas were awesome little cars. One of my friends had one in high school a few years back. Not the most reliable thing around, but classy in it's own, very strange way. Fun car to drift in limestone/gravel parking lots too. ;)
The new 'Fiesta' has a lot to live up too. - djSyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Next-Generation Ford Fiesta Will Arrive in U.S. by Late 2009"
"next generation Ford Fiesta will be sold in the U.S. by late 2008"
Well, which is it? - Hamsterpotpies, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm sure its going to be the same POS it always was.
- mjesales, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I just hope its better than the old ones... We used to feel like we were going to get blown off the road in the old ones...
- shranko, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Oh man what a great thing to hear. I had a '91 red Festiva all through high school ('99) and a bit of college. Awesome little car and great memories to boot. That damn thing went to 191,000 miles then one day, as I was driving home from school, every gear above second disappeared. It was a sad day. Hell that car made it through my sister, brother, then me. I still miss her, especially when I had to buy tires for my truck....
- temporal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i think the Pontiac Vibe is produced in California...i know it's kind of a technicality but whatever.
- TheCash, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Who cares about this piece of cr*p mini-Focus... what I want to know is when are they going to release the 2007 Mondeo here in the US?
In case you guys haven't seen this car yet, it's the one Bond drives in Casino Royale, before he wins the Aston Martin from the a$$hole with the hot wife.
Here's some pics I found of it:
http://autoshows.ford.com/148/2007/03/13/mondeo-debuts-in-geneva/ - MaxwellTD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Get with the times, we don't use metal anymore, that car is pure plastic.
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, you're getting dugg down because people in general don't agree with your conspiracy theories.
- slimnickyy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12009? They're already here in Europe. Exactly like that. It's like a smaller version of a Focus. And they're not THAT bad, certainly not like what the old model was. Probably a bit small of horsepower for you Americans, al though the models here have diesel engines which make them quite efficient and relatively powerful, but I know they'll put in a petrol engine for the US which will probably be *****.
- demonstro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It does 45+ mpg (imperial) and doesn't look like a bag of crap.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Let's Party!
- stonebear, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3My God, what monumental stupidity; the American Fiesta was an abominable piece of junk, and best not spoken of again. One notch up from the Yugo it was.
- TheWeez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Now if they only make a SHOGun version of this one.

- slave25637, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2ford...what does that stand for again?
- mrroadrage, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0The Festiva wasn't built by Daewoo, but by Kia. It was a re-badged Mazda 121.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1There was a guy in my high school that had one, he used to take that thing off road into fields mud trails and god only knows what else. It looked like *****, but it ran like a champ.
- theholycow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@stonebear:
One step up from a Yugo? I remember seeing a Fiesta in a showroom. As tiny as the engine bay was, it looked like two men could stand inside it to work on the engine. That car was manufactured by Daewoo, BTW...long before they tried to sell Daewoo-branded cars in the US. It was so small it made the Escort look like a Town Car. At best, it was equivalent to a better-named Yugo.
@maglob:
I used to drive a Cadillac, and I drove it because it was quite comfortable and I didn't give a damn what other people thought. Maybe somebody drives one for fashion, but I suspect that not many people do.
Excuse me while I fail to care that we're getting a new fiesta...which doesn't explain why I'm reading about it here. - punkrock4life, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1the fiesta was a horrible car last time it was on the market. you'd think that ford would use a different name...
- AutoObsessed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Some American responders are confusing the Fiesta with the Festiva. The Fiesta was imported from Germany from 1977 to around 1981. The Festiva was imported in the '90's from Korea and was a Daewoo. I owned a 1980 Fiesta S for several years and found it was a great handling car.
- SWMpls, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anybody seen Bobby Lee's pimped out Daewoo from that Mad TV skit?
I'm just sayin'... - spideyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Doesn't Ford Fiesta stand for '***** on Wheels'?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what a pos, just like the old one
- balthisar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It'll be built in North America, and there will be three models based on this platform, one of which will be surprisingly "big" given the size of the platform. All I can say.
- jetcat13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Shouldn't they have called it the Ford Fetus?
