I'd recommend checking out the long video if you have the time (about 1 hour) - there are several parallels between Argentina (once one of the world's richest economies) and the US - gardengrocer, on 11/08/2008, -0/+11This will be happening in the USA soon.Get prepared, stock up on food and necessities while you can.

- bizjet747, on 11/09/2008, -0/+5Despite all this, Icelanders are naturally optimistic, a trait born, perhaps, of living in one of the world’s most punishing landscapes ...Also, Iceland has a highly educated, young and flexible population, and has triumphed after hardship before.
America has an indoctrinated, brainwashed population that has not been hardship tested for over a generation. Economic crash in America wont be as peaceful as it has been in Iceland. - roho76, on 11/09/2008, -1/+4"highly educated"
If the population as a whole are so educated then the Central Banks would not have been able to pull this over on them. Truth is they got caught up in the Credit and Spend lust that everyone else did. Now they are paying the price for it. The only difference is they are won't allow anymore money to be pumped into the economy like the US is. - bizjet747, on 11/10/2008, -1/+3You're entirely correct. By "highly educated", they mean, well indoctrinated. I guess the Icelanders can thank their Ministry of Education, Science and Culture for educating them so well in central banking. Iceland has a compulsory indoctrination, errr.. compulsory education system. So as always the .gov is responsible rendering a "highly educated" band of sheep that allowed the Central Banks to pull this off.
