- scabbers, on 10/10/2007, -3/+23Can't beat the Blair government's thoughts DURING 9/11:
"Ms Moore's remark within hours of the attack on the World Trade Center that it was "a very good day to get out anything we want to bury"" - gallagherFTW, on 10/10/2007, -1/+17i still blame my missing homework assignments on 9/11

- bromac, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Lets play the "Think like a corporation" game again!
"Should we falsely claim these records destroyed in Sept. 11?"
"Will it make us more money?"
"Yes."
"You have your answer." - scabbers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7What article did you read?
- EarlOfLade, on 10/10/2007, -9/+15Another example of how great the capitalistic system is. And people want these idiots to be under less control and regulations? That is what you would get if a cartoon character like Ron Paul came into power. It would be christmas for the Enrons and the Morgan Stanleys of the world and who would be left to pick up the tab? You and me!
- vault, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Wow...just wow.
- tizz66, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10Yeah, this is precisely the problem with pure capitalism. Pure capitalism is great if there's perfect knowledge, i.e. people know MS did this, and can make the choice to avoid it. Unfortunately there's only imperfect knowledge so people can't make valid choices about who gets their business.
It's a face of life that no system is perfect, there's only a good compromise. - SpykerSpeed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Mrs. Crabtree, the terrorists 'sploded my databases.
- obladda, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Please keep you childish comments to yourself. Brokerages have offsite backups of everything. In fact they have failover offices. Which means when their primary office fails for whatever reason. They send their workers to the backup site.
Which means it was a lie from the start. - unklesam666, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5why is this surprising in the slightest when "parts" of our government still refuse to cooperate with the rest of it and by extension, the country. the excuse isn't that the records were destroyed, it's just that the records are too important for any one else to see. same excuse. same *****.
- brutalentropy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I've worked IT for a few large fortune 500 companies... they ALL have offsite tape backup storage. At my current job, we can request a tape and have it the next day (or the same day if we do it early in the day), so there is really no excuse for this. They are just trying to use this as an excuse to not turn over relevant data in a lawsuit.
- wesb, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I think you are incredibly unfounded in putting Enron and MS in the same category.
- brutalentropy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It's from the movie Fight Club, but I don't get the relation to this article.
- Curlz31, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Those who benefited from 911:
- Globalists
- Corporations
- Bankers
- Military-Industrial Complex
- Blood Thirsty Insane people
Those who got screwed:
- American People
- Muslims
- Peace Loving People
When your looking for suspects consider the latin adage 'Cui bono'........then look at the evidence - danarama, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6amazing how the plane that hit the pentagon also destroyed records for trillions of dollars that went missing.
Inside trading too...INSIDE JOB that is - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Why can't I use the I forgot it or I lost it defense when the government comes a knocking at my door?
- TomRitchford, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Note that Morgan Stanley paid a measly $12 million -- and their stock was up today.
And why shouldn't it go up? They probably made more than that $12 million just on that scam alone! That's simply part of the cost of doing business for them. This result will encourage them to do it again!
It's astonishing that a company can deliberately commit fraud, something that's a felony and would get you or me locked in jail for years, and get away just by paying a few dollars. Someone or several someones made this happen; they committed felonies and should go to jail. - quaxon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1where are you getting your stock quotes? the markets are closed on sundays.
- beerden, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If people quickly forgot everything bad that happened the year before, then Government and Corporations could band together and fool their voters and business partners into thinking that War and war contracts are immediately necessary, and proceed to rip up he constitution in the name of homeland security, in only a few years.
If you put a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will jump out immediately, but if you put a frog in a pot of cold water and slowly heat the water until it boils, the frog won't notice and will be boiled alive.
The motive for a staged "attack" on the WTC buildings and the pentagon building to underscore a need for war (and profit) is overwhelming, but not easily provable. But if it is true, the worst enemies to America are those who are controlling America.
I wonder, how many soldiers would obey orders to shoot at large masses of civilians, on American soil? Maybe an American soldier can answer this question, whether they've been brainwashed by the military machine or not? - mountaincable, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I've yet to see the relevance of this allusion, could you explain?
- asands84, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"Everything's under control, sir."
- obladda, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'll get over it when our government comes out of bunker mode and restores our rights and the rights of citizens of other countries. Which should be RSN.
- strafefire, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Ummm.....If Ron Paul would be so good for the Enrons and The Morgan Stanleys of the world, then why are they and their elk trying their damnest to censor Ron Paul AND not get him elected?
Just a thought... - obliviousfool, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The language of the settlement doesn't make that accusation, but the article seems to at least imply that accusation.
- Groovemaster, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4No, 9/11 happened exactly as Bush and the corporate-controlled media said it happened. Seriously, what could they possibly stand to gain?
- Davekcon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1"The settlement documents don't accuse the firm of withholding the e-mails intentionally, according to Finra spokesman Herb Perone."
- beerden, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This seems similar to the end scene in Fight Club, with financial headquarters destroyed so that all records of debts would be erased. Fight club hit the theatres on October 15, 1999. Hardly an original idea, but it makes sense that only corporate sociopaths would actually go through with it.
- kenvsryu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1His name was Robert Paulsen.
- moocow1452, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1People are still miffed about the Holocaust and WWII. Heck, some people are still miffed about the Civil War. Generally, after a couple of generations, we'll get over it and be back to our high and mighty selves.
- anthonyhuff, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0After the recent corporate scandals, its surprising that some companies are not acting straight. I would expect the enrons, worldcoms, and tycos to be the wake up call. It just seems they just hit the snooze button.
- myrako9, on 01/01/2008, -0/+0His name was Robert Paulsen.

http://www.maxilinks.net - http://www.maxiwebsites.com - fuzzmeister, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1It doesn't matter who the hell 9/11 was convenient for, that isn't evidence of an "inside job" in any way, shape, or form. I have yet to see real, irrefutable, and significant facts supporting the "truther" story of 9/11, and without those, it is nothing more than unfounded speculation.
- HippyInASuit, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19/11 was, in part, a continuation of the Enron scandal. All of Enron's records were stored in Building 7, which imploded later that evening for no apparent reason. Funny how we've never heard about this on the news, isn't it?
- HippyInASuit, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Earl, my friend. You need to stop drinking their cool-aid, brother. When the neo-cons and the corporate media say "deregulation" they really mean regulations that setup a cartel. They is what they mean when they say "free market" economy too.
Ron Paul would allow truly free markets to develop and not allow fascists setup for cartels. What makes you think he would never impose any regulations at all? If car companies make cars that explode half the time in accidents, or toy companies make radioactive products then regulations will be setup for the safety of the public, in addition to the usual America law suits I imagine.
We shouldn't be setting up regulations to allow certain companies to be the only ones who can do x-y-z and get government subsidies to do it with. - i208khonsu, on 10/10/2007, -5/+4We all know how this went down. Lawyer calls Insurance Broker for emails, he no longer has access to them, he then calls IT which is still scrambling to get things back to normal. Those emails aren't available right now, and they don't know if they will ever be. To be on the safe side it's best to tell them worst case scenario is no, that the emails are gone.
These kind of requests go on for a week or two after September 11th and die off before all the data is restored. Insurance Brokers accept the reality that anything before such n' such a date is gone even through the reality is different and IT has lost the connection to the brokers after the servers have been recreated and backups have been retrieved.
Those emails probably became available to those brokers one day and they never even noticed as they stopped looking that far back in their email archives. That is until now when somebody forgetting that emails were even lost went back to find something and realized that all of these emails were still preserved. - BluesFan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1I gave up on this country awhile ago!
