- kemp34, on 08/06/2008, -0/+15No surprise here. I am sure millions of homeowners equity has been evaporated by the 20% plus decline in home prices over the last couple of years. You can't borrow from equity you do not have.
- inactive, on 08/06/2008, -0/+12We are witnessing massive credit deflation by the banks (1929 anyone), while the Fed is giving out dollars by the billions to these same institutions. The public is getting stripped and left in the street without a home as the bankers get driven home in their limos. By no means do I believe home owners should be bailed out; however, what's good for the goose, is good for the gander.

The fact that you can't fill your car up with gas and go where you want or go to your favorite four star restaurant is in no way connected. The government is your friend, we are not going to let anything bad happen to you. Go back to watching the Cartoon Network. Nothing bad could ever happen to you. This America, and nothing could ever threaten you in any way.....Now on the count of three when I snap my fingers.....
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -0/+7good thing I already maxed out my home equity line of credit.....

mortgages foreclosed as rapidly as possible. When through the process of law
the common people lose their homes, they will become more docile and more
easily governed through the strong arm of government applied by a central
power of wealth under leading financiers. People without homes will not
quarrel with their leaders. This is well known among our principal men now
engaged in forming an imperialism of capitalism to govern the world. By
dividing the people we can get them to expend their energies in fighting
over questions of no importance to us except as teachers of the common herd.
It is thus by discreet action we can secure for ourselves that which has
been so well planned and so successfully accomplished." - U.S. Banker's
Association Magazine, 1924 - CoolHandLuke70, on 08/07/2008, -0/+2Yeah, duck and cover!
- Trigonometron, on 08/07/2008, -1/+1That was cute, now do you have any real solutions?
