As far as I am concerned Paulson should be fired for dereliction of duty.- bossm4n, on 03/30/2008, -1/+5Paulson is not individually responsible here. He inherited a flawed system that many have proposed overhauls for in the past, but the reform is so sweeping, it never makes it through the entire approval process. I suspect this will likely be true this time around as well. While both sides of the aisle agree that changes are needed, they can't agree on the specifics. FTA - "In broad outlines, we agree with large parts of Secretary Paulson's plan," Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., chairman of the Joint Economic Committee, said in a statement. "He is on the money when he calls for a more unified regulatory structure, although we would prefer a single regulator to the three he proposes."
- aliengoods, on 03/30/2008, -6/+1Congratulations Cashman. You finally made a post without mentioning Ron Paul. Must have been tough.
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -1/+3Thanks for mentioning Ron Paul. at the risk of being accused of stating the obvious, Ron Paul would restore our rights, enforce the limits on government as indicated in the CONSTITUTION and abolish the Federal Reserve.
- Parisjune, on 03/31/2008, -1/+2You and I "get it", bohemianowl. but most of the people on Digg are in a deep, deep, sleep.

- robbinzo, on 03/29/2008, -3/+21Anyone else thinking about foxes and hen-houses?
- Look4Truth, on 03/29/2008, -5/+17Sure, why not. They've done such a wonderful job of ruinin...I mean running the economy that we should let them have free reign.
- QuantumBios, on 03/29/2008, -1/+19“The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and conspire against it in times of adversity. The banking powers are more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy. They denounce as public enemies all who question their methods or throw light upon their crimes. I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me and the bankers in the rear. Of the two, the one at my rear is my greatest foe. Corporations have been enthroned, and an era of corruption in high places will follow. The money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until the wealth is aggregated in the hands of a few, and the Republic is destroyed.
The government should create, issue, and circulate all the currency. Creating and issuing money is the supreme prerogative of government and is its greatest creative opportunity. Adopting these principles will save the taxpayers immense sums of interest and money will cease to be the master and become the servant of humanity.”
- Abraham Lincoln - QuantumBios, on 03/29/2008, -1/+19Thomas Jefferson warned:
“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks...will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.... The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.” -Thomas Jefferson
In 1913, the government finally gave up the power to issue money to a group of wealthy men known as international bankers. The deceptive system called The Federal Reserve Bank System was created. Today, even the government must borrow money from the Federal Reserve.
The president who signed the 1913 Federal Reserve Act was Woodrow Wilson. A few years later, he wrote: “I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.” -Woodrow Wilson - nelsonwinters, on 03/30/2008, -1/+14If anyone doesn't understand the importance of this, grab some popcorn and search google video for "money as debt" and watch. I also recommend "Fiat Empire" and for the brave, "The Money Masters"
- Ebjius, on 03/30/2008, -0/+12Damn, the US has been PWND, for lack of a better word.
- looselips, on 03/30/2008, -2/+8It's not a game, we have been bamboozled.
Which side is our leaders on?
Bush, Sacs and BearStears, CFR, Obama-Clinton-McCain vs. Paul & Gravel, WTO/UN, Amero, NAU, and the mother ***** NWO.
Anyone else ready to blue-screen, cuz I think I just rebooted.
The only reason to be overloaded, is so much of the game will be forgotten before the final check-mate.
We may only be pawns but we are many.
For once I would like to see an e-govt with independent and direct e-voting.
If money can fly safely through the pipes, so can our votes.
Invest in Apple and wait for them to introduce the I-Vote.
Welcome to the new independent party, whose member is anyone with a valid US issued Drivers license and internet access.
Or we can sit on our thumbs and wait for them to stand up and represent us...
I can only ask if the gathering/petition signing will be at your capitol or mine?

- Rotzooi, on 03/30/2008, -0/+5Thankfully, this information must be total fabrication as we currently have a Republican "Party of small government" President.
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -0/+8the same one who claims there's a war on terror but leaves our borders wide open?
- Parisjune, on 03/31/2008, -0/+3The doors are shutting on America.
Obama? Clinton? McCain? It doesn't matter anymore. If you believe otherwise, you are a fool.
