- inactive, on 03/28/2008, -4/+20Maybe Al-Sadr isn't aware that the "surge" worked and he isn't supposed to fight the occupiers any more. Obviously he isn't paying enough attention to the Republican ***** Machine.
- inactive, on 03/28/2008, -8/+17Find those WMDs yet, Bush?
- ramises, on 03/28/2008, -2/+8"* the estimated cost to Iraq over the life of the new oil contracts is US $74 to US $194 billion, compared with leaving oil development in public hands. These sums represent between two and seven times the current Iraqi state budget.
* the contracts would guarantee massive profits to foreign companies, with rates of return of 42 per cent to 162 per cent."

Not sure what you mean by "*PROOF*" though... what like signed legal documents or something? - openj, on 03/28/2008, -1/+7Didn't the USSR collapse shortly after getting their asses handed to them by a bunch of half-trained religious zealots? Not far from Iraq, if I remember correctly. It's a good thing the USA isn't also in Afghanis...
Oh, sorry. - inactive, on 03/28/2008, -4/+9First of all: what proof do we have that it was Mahdi Army/Jaish al Mahdi fighters who did this? The Fadhila party/militia is bigger in Basra than the JAM, it could have been them.
Second: self-destructive mah butt. This is the same that keeps happening in the north of Iraq: if people feel they are being left out of the political equation, they know they can act as spoilers. It is pretty easy to sabotage pipelines. Same thing happens in Nigeria. Expect more of this and the high oil/gas prices that go with it. Another fine mess you've gotten us into, George... - inactive, on 03/28/2008, -1/+6It's an invasion. They are just finishing up killing everybody that opposes it.
They learned from Vietnam: if you kill too many people in little time people tend to call it a crime against humanity or even a genocide. So they spread the killing over a few years to make it look like they're taking care to not kill innocent people. You've been fighting civilians for the past 4 years, not organized armies. - overtoke, on 03/28/2008, -1/+6You should join up and go over there yourself, ignorant pussy.
- Smokinn, on 03/28/2008, -2/+6Like gas prices weren't high enough already =/
- talonstriker, on 03/28/2008, -1/+4Are you advocating genocide? Not to call you a nazi but thats exactly the nazi philosophy regarding jews: they're no good to our progress, so get rid of then.
- EnigmaOX, on 03/28/2008, -6/+9you think Iraqis get any money from that oil?
- inactive, on 03/28/2008, -1/+4Here we go... $120/barrel
- inactive, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3Please RTFA before you post.
- inactive, on 03/28/2008, -2/+4"why is the US Government backing Maliki and the Iranian-funded Badr brigade against Sadr's nationalist Iraqi bloc"
Profit.
Warfare in Iraq translates into profit for Bush and his cabal. They have no reason to end the fighting and millions of dollars worth of profits from making it worse. - jackal42, on 03/28/2008, -1/+3or, or, the dollars he is being paid to not fight, arent worth ***** anymore??
- swrostmore, on 03/28/2008, -2/+4Its just mind-boggling, yet another instance where Bush's policy in Iraq seems to directly benefit Tehran at the expense of our own interests. We are essentially providing air cover for the Iranian players in Iran's proxy war against us... I guess its justified by the fact that Sadr wants to nationalize Iraqs oil?
- RabidAngel, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2Mission accomplished! I mean, uh... the surge is working! Uh... aw, crap.
- aliengoods, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2But the surge is working. We just have to stick with it another 100 years. Then gas will be cheap.
- tucsonsun13, on 03/28/2008, -0/+2This war is a f*cking mess.
- Gimpyfuzznut, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1What's wrong people? You don't like the truth?
Sadr is thug - but it doesn't change the fact that US policy is allowing Iran to meddle in Iraq and directly benefit from the instability. - sigg14, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1this was staged
- rmxz, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1I assume so, since he did say "Mission Accomplished". Finding WMDs was the mission, right?
Or maybe this is just a continuation of "Shock and Awe". - Hermmunster, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1There are no neat and clean wars.
- aliengoods, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1"if people feel they are being left out of the political equation, they know they can act as spoilers"
OK, I've heard a lot of crazy ideas, but the notion that Hillary Clinton is Iraqi just blows my mind! - solid12345, on 03/28/2008, -1/+1Right, let the oil fall into Iraq's public hands when all the skilled Iraqi engineers have left the nation and no foreign workers or money to rebuild their aging pipelines.
You know why the Gulf states signed away such good deals to our oil companies? Because they did not have the education or resources to get the oil out of the ground themselves in the first place. - swrostmore, on 03/28/2008, -4/+4Why is the Shiite Maliki government waging war on the Shiite Mehdi army? Does it have anything to do with Sadr's popularity in the context of the upcoming Iraqi elections? And why is the US Government backing Maliki and the Iranian-funded Badr brigade against Sadr's nationalist Iraqi bloc whos fundamental platform is to end foreign influence in Iraq?
- musntSurfatWork, on 03/28/2008, -0/+0glad I can use my legs to walk and pedal a bicycle.
To those handicapped, I offer my body and might to help wheel you around, and hitch a ride with me! ***** YOU AMERICA, your propaganda war and mind control aint working on my soul. - inactive, on 03/28/2008, -0/+0Exactly I think Iraq is going to turn out like Nigeria. Different factions continuously fighting the government and destroying pipelines. I guess thats how Iraq is now.
- NelsonR, on 03/28/2008, -0/+0Will someone please contact General Betray Us and tell him Iraq is becoming dicey. Well he said the SURGE would succeed while many of us non military said it would not. Who will be right, who will be wrong? Five years of war, five years of death and misery, for what in the beginning, imaginary Iraqi terrorist and a flawed President in office. I await acceptance and realism to prevail and finally accepting failures like that other lying war, Vietnam. We will never win and put the blame where it belongs, your political and military leaders and Betray Us is part of that elitist crowd of losers.
- inactive, on 03/28/2008, -6/+1Dugg :)
- bigp3rm, on 03/28/2008, -8/+1Ok seriously, when are we going to stop playing nice and start killing people that are not with the new Iraq. Some people want to put cake and icing on this while thing. It's ugly no matter what way you slice it. I wasn't for this war but at some point we have to move forward. Get rid of these tribes 'councils" and move forward. Otherwise it's never going to end.
- inactive, on 03/28/2008, -14/+7They really are self-destructive crazies!
- inactive, on 03/28/2008, -11/+4Yes, do you have *PROOF* they don't?
- Sil369, on 03/28/2008, -10/+2Please Don't Capitalize Half Of The Description. Thank Yous.
