- mattnyc99, on 04/16/2009, -5/+30mint.com rocks!
- Stewballs2111, on 04/16/2009, -0/+16Mint.com kinda scares me. You give them all of your financial information, and I mean all of it, then in their user agreement they clarify that in the event that stuff gets stolen or hacked into you are on your own.
- sfasu77, on 04/16/2009, -0/+8Vanguard Index Funds FTW....err... i mean for the catastrophic loss.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -1/+9How much did it cost to buy this to the front page?
- enantiodromia, on 04/16/2009, -4/+11what are you talking about? why do you hate mint.com so much?
relax dude, seriously... - StigNordas, on 04/16/2009, -0/+6"401ks do not have to be invested in Wall Street products." I can't seem to find a way to pull my 401k out of the market short of withdrawing with penalties.
- kingamoon, on 04/16/2009, -0/+6I like mint.com a lot but ... you're spamming now mint? really?
- nepidae, on 04/16/2009, -1/+7Is this a diggvertisment?
- RicardoWilliams, on 04/16/2009, -2/+8"Lowering these trading costs will help bring down your overall fees and improve your investment profits." ... good call
- RNEMESiS42, on 04/16/2009, -0/+5I've been using it since last fall, and it's really helped me curb my spending.
- EASwanson, on 04/16/2009, -0/+4Plot any of their funds over the past 5 years vs. any index and it's not "FTL" people have too short of a time frame when it comes to successful investing in the stock market.
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -1/+5Maybe you should marry him.
- nroth, on 04/16/2009, -3/+7I really don't think that mint.com is submitting this to digg, at least from looking at the poster's account. The only other "investment garbage" i've seen was an explanation of what deflation is. I really don't see a problem with this in any way.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -1/+5oh u
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -1/+4I'd buy lots and lots of piggy banks for no apparent reason!
- randylm, on 04/16/2009, -0/+3How safe is mint.com? All my financial info... I'm afraid of sites like this.
- tehrob, on 04/16/2009, -0/+3keep your "prize" but it is
http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/emigre/brothers/regul ... - Somefoo, on 04/16/2009, -1/+4Thanks for the spam Digg! So glad I visited this crap site! If only I had remembered to reenable the craptacular DiggBar so you could have offered me several other exciting financial products at the same time!
- yerdaddy, on 04/16/2009, -0/+3The investment industry needs your money because, well, it needs your money.
- randylm, on 04/16/2009, -0/+3wrong
- swissd8, on 04/16/2009, -0/+3and..... It's gone!
- shredswithpiks, on 04/16/2009, -0/+2Not all 401(k) plans are the same - some companies restrict what you can invest in with your 401(k) money, others don't. My guess is your 401(k) plan is through a party that doesn't allow as much freedom as some others.
However, now isn't the best time to pull your money out of the market anyway... unless it's in single stocks of companies who are obviously not coming back from the losses. - harrisbradley, on 04/16/2009, -2/+4I signed up after I heard Kevin Rose mention it, and I'm stoked I did. It's awesome.
- LordRedSnake, on 04/17/2009, -0/+2Uh, I use mint and I don't pay them a dime. Charge-to-play? They make money by having sponsored deals offered to their members which are pretty unobtrusively displayed at the bottom of the main screen. You have to click on the three categories in which you could save in order to see any of that anyway.
And blame whoever submitted this pretty common sense article and all those who dugg it. - inactive, on 04/16/2009, -2/+4Oh yes. As much as the mint shills have tried to post otherwise, this reeks of spam.
- roostersheep, on 04/16/2009, -1/+3The first person who identifies the mint font gets to suck MrBabyMan's left nut. Who's in?
- superkendall, on 04/16/2009, -0/+2If the market is at a low point it's certainly not the best time to pull out!
Trying to time the market is a recipe for disaster. - enantiodromia, on 04/16/2009, -4/+5yes, you keep saying that, without any examples.
are you going to continue with the unfounded hate, or offer any reasons? - seekingtruth987, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1search google for "self directed solo 401k" and you'll find your answer.
- jaygeeze, on 04/16/2009, -5/+6Spam.com rocks!
I mean, mint.com. Whatever, same difference.
Buried as spam. - EASwanson, on 04/16/2009, -1/+2Yea maybe if you're talking about investing less then 20k into the market. The only way fees eat at your principle if you are actively trading and that isn't investment it's pretty much gambling. If you want something with tree trades try zecco.com ... never used it since i get free trades on TDAmeritrade but i've heard on forums that some smaller investors use that. Also if you want to invest for less just put your money into a vanguard fund. They have preformed well for the past 30 years and they update the ETF mix every now-n-then.
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -1/+2Did not having any money help curb your spending as well?
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -2/+3A mint.
- whorunbartertwn, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1@Stig
Look for a stable value, money market, or GIC fund in your 401k choices. I don't see the point of doing so (you either won't earn enough to retire or are attempting to market time) but most 401ks offer some sort of ultraconservative investment choice. - Foxdie07, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1which is?
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -1/+2Haha. My new favourite digger. Truth is awesome.
- bacon_skoda, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1get in line.
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -1/+2Thanks. Maybe you should post your thoughts to :
http://www.I'mASpectacularDoucheWhoKnowsNothingofI ... - seekingtruth987, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1superkendall - i recently read that the stock market is 70% overpriced compared to the last time earnings (dividends) were this low. something sounds not right about an investment market that recommends buying when things are on their way up, buying when things are on their way down, and never recommends selling.
- yerdaddy, on 04/16/2009, -1/+2The picture is an accurate representation of how the system works. You buy the piggy bank and give it to somebody else, typically someone who already has a lot of them.
- jclaudew, on 09/12/2009, -0/+1Looks good, actually find information first before do it
http://earnonlinemoney-fast.blogspot.com/
http://stockmarketcfs.blogspot.com/ - murrdpirate, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1Who says it's not going lower? It doesn't really make sense to buy or sell based on how much prices of stocks have changed. You should only buy or sell based on the current price, expected earning, and future growth.
Stocks were very overpriced before the crash. Right now the S&P is at a P/E of about 17, and that's based on last years earnings. Historically, the average P/E of the S&P has been around 13, and often around 7 during recessions. So it seems to me that they're still overpriced. - tehrob, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1yeah after further inspection, while it is very very close, the tops of the m and n are much smoother on the mint logo...
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -2/+3You should be.
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -0/+1Thanks Mr.Mint! Another fantabulous piece of advice from spamint.com
- Grueslayer, on 04/17/2009, -1/+1I love Mint because it makes it easy to see all my accounts without jumping through 10+ hoops to see the same info.
- Resistoon, on 04/16/2009, -2/+2I have been trying to get Mint.com to see my Credit Union for a couple months now, so I can use their service. I sent them the link and they still don't see it.
- casspa, on 04/16/2009, -4/+4Great advice...I'm sick of this damn recession.
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -4/+4No hate here. Just stating something about a baboon and his bum. spam spam spam spam. Thanks mint! We now know you exist except nobody has any money to play with in your little charge-to-play sandbox.
- flowkan, on 09/11/2009, -0/+0Nice advice
