- TheFounder, on 10/17/2008, -4/+32Because they think they can buy the assets much cheaper in bankruptcy court.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -1/+18Why?
- feliphe, on 10/17/2008, -2/+18In approximately 11.1 years everyone will have a job with Microsoft, Google, or Walmart...
- Sal4, on 10/17/2008, -3/+16Duh. Nobody has interest in Yahoo.
- seltaeb4, on 10/17/2008, -1/+12Moreover, why would Google want to spend good money acquiring such a headache?
- weech, on 10/17/2008, -2/+12Yang is a ***** idiot. Bet he feels pretty smart for rejecting a $33 bid 6 months ago...it was undervalued, right. Good thing it's trading for 13 bucks today.
- Zoplax, on 10/17/2008, -2/+11This is smart.
Let Yahoo burn itself out with Jerry Yang's goofy management style, draconian administration on their Yahoo Answers site, shoddy WordPress wannabe 360, and ***** home page.
Then when they're really in the toilet, assimilate and feed their mascot Yamster to a convenient boa constrictor and be done with them. - fragileKnight, on 10/17/2008, -4/+12and the fox said - "Grapes are Sour" :). I remember it was Yahooo who said no to the deals
- chrissku, on 10/17/2008, -3/+10Microsoft sounds like the guy who asked a girl out and was rejected 3 times before finally giving up. "I didn't really like her that much anyway. She's kind of a bitch. Plus there are plenty of hotter women out there."
- 1jaxstate1, on 10/17/2008, -0/+7LOL
- MrMcGuire, on 10/17/2008, -2/+9I never really wanted to date that hot girl who rejected me anyways... Don't worry, though. I'm going to up my masturbating. I think it will help me get a girlfriend in the long run.
- Rudegar, on 10/17/2008, -0/+6I for one join ms in having no intrest in Yahoo
- seltaeb4, on 10/17/2008, -0/+6I think the term "MicroHoo" is already registered to a labioplasty company.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5Yahoo is going down. Microsoft tried to give it cpr, but they felt they could handle it. Now they are going into a coma
- hasslinthehoff, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5It's like GM thinking about buying Chrysler. It seems it would be a lot of money spent for questionable returns.
- iloveliberals, on 10/17/2008, -1/+5You mean the 30% of the people who don't work for the government.
- tattertech, on 10/17/2008, -1/+5I second damian7, why? They have nowhere near the cash to make acquisitions as MSFT.
- fatlip, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3that wouldn't happen. ever. they don't call it Microsoft Internet Explorer Live! Browser now.
i guess its better than Yoogle though. or GooHoo - modsuperstar, on 10/17/2008, -4/+7So tomorrow we can expect a takeover bid from Microsoft like the last time they denied they were interested.
- freeridstylee, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Have you no concept of antitrust laws?
- kkashx, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Everyone: No interest in Yahoo.
- 2Bnor2B, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Start gradually switching to gmail now. Google's mail system gives you free pop and smpth access, Yahoo charges extra for this service. When you set up a gmail account it can automatically pull all your contacts from Yahoo. If you already pay for Yahoo's mailbox plus, just have the mail forwarded to gmail and gradually update the senders. Eventually cancel Yahoo and only keep the free web based service until you are sure all your contacts and sites are corrected. Yahoo will eventually fail, so get this done now because its easier.
- insanebrain, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2Guess again.
- macslut, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2*Everyone* will have jobs in 11.1 years? That's the best news I've heard since the financial crisis broke. Or do you mean everyone, except those who illegally emigrated to Mexico?
- arplayer2k, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2As long as Mr. Ichan is involved. he will be trying to oust Mr. Yang (who he blamed for the last deal failing) and build value in Yahoo for a Microsoft deal. Shareholders would win. Good luck Karl.
- etruscan, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2I don't know. Google has one good reason for acquiring Yahoo!... Flickr. I'm sure they would strip the rest of the company away because there really isn't another Yahoo! product that can't be compared (and beaten) by Google, but Google has nothing comparable to Flickr.
- diggopolous, on 10/17/2008, -1/+3Could someone please, please buy them? I don't want to go thru tha hassle of changing my email.
- insanebrain, on 10/17/2008, -1/+2Yahoooooo. .. .o . .wait.
- thenonhacker, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1You forgot the "/sarcasm"
- thenonhacker, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1Makes sense.
- whoreable, on 10/17/2008, -1/+2Bill Gates be all like Ya Who?
- thenonhacker, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1You didn't get it.
There are rumors are Microsoft is trying the 3rd time to acquire Yahoo, which is a myth: BUSTED. - bbtweb, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1XP64 doesn't have the new file system they have been promising.
- thenonhacker, on 10/17/2008, -0/+1+1 to Funny
XD - blubegonia, on 10/17/2008, -1/+2good! i like my Yahoo! just the way it is; Microsoft will only soften them and make them weak/stupid.
- gerrylazlo, on 10/17/2008, -3/+4The spokesman added "Nyah nee nyah nee poo poo"
- tattertech, on 10/18/2008, -0/+1Umm seriously? Yahoo! is still technically the top visited internet property. Search - where GOOG leads is one aspect of the internet. Flickr is ***** compared to the rest of Yahoo! in terms of value. It was a great acquisition and a strong asset still, but it's nowhere near the value that the yahoo home page drives.
- staticfire, on 10/17/2008, -1/+2viva la revulsion
- donnyg16, on 10/18/2008, -0/+1Microsoft should have took Yahoo's first offer when they had the chance. That's what happens when people try to be to greedy
- thedsack, on 10/17/2008, -1/+2This will help bring the price of Yahoo lower so MS can buy it.
- thenonhacker, on 10/17/2008, -1/+1Not even close. Why would buy a sinking ship?
- toxicityj, on 10/17/2008, -2/+2it will. if you can please your hand, you can please a woman.
- dimitrisokolov, on 10/22/2008, -0/+0
People still use Yahoo? Only Microsoft was dumb enough to actually want to buy Yahoo and for $40 some billion at that. Retarded. Yahoo is going down. - fuzzynyanko, on 10/17/2008, -1/+1I guess Yahoo stock went up when Microsoft announced interest. I think they might be waiting until ti's $5-7/share in order to do a buyout if they still want it.
- fuzzynyanko, on 10/17/2008, -1/+1XP64!
- bbtweb, on 10/17/2008, -2/+2This is good news...Microsoft has more important things to worry about...like following through on all of the promises they dropped off a cliff when they released Vista when they release Windows 7. A STABLE 64-bit, secure operating system, low bloat, new file system, stability, etc.
- jacekpoplawski, on 10/17/2008, -2/+1Hurrah!
I can still use my pro flickr account! -
