If the elevator stops and our listener walks out...walk out with him! You have to be persistent and if he really doesn't want you to follow I guess he will just have to say so. Elevator pitching is just like dating, if you are afraid of rejection you will end-up being a crazy cat lady!
Good luck with your ventures.

The chance of the elevator getting stuck is so small I don't see any reason to prepare yourself for it. If it happens, improvise. If you can't do that you shouldn't be running a company anyway. If your prospect is interested it's a great chance to hold your meeting right then and there. Where is he going to go?
This brings another thought to mind - what if you can't get the guys attention and you press the emergency stop button so you do? It's a bold move and the conversation could move in a very positive or very negative direction - but at least it will me moving!

I'd nearly forgotten about the "Elevator Pitch", which would be useful to me as I try and get my site/blog out into the world.
Makes me wonder, though, what happens if the elevator stops?
