- BeforeSputnik, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1While i agree that it is similar to water and electricity in prevalence of use and could be a good candidate for becoming a Public Utility , i would be afraid that making it so would dampen technological growth and keep us tied to Oil as a means of transportation. Let the market control the prices, if they get too high, a new product will takeover. (RP)

The current state of affairs with oil companies and big business in bed with a party that promotes socialized pain for privatized gain in the name of the libertarian tradition of the Founding Fathers is far closer to fascism than nationalization.
