- Archaic1, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2The economy definetely has an effect in this area, but I'd say it's more likely that greater reliance on the internet is causing these print magazines to faulter. It's only going to get worse as the older parts of target demographics grow away, only to replaced by a generation that grew up using the web as their main source of news.

- inactive, on 08/12/2008, -0/+1No surprise here. Most magazines are fluff and not much substance. Too bad editors mainly use their paper pulpits to entertain rather than educate. Maybe they (along with the rest of the media) could have helped prevent some of the economic problems that led to their lower revenue.
By the way, it is possible to entertain and educate at the same time.
