- IconoclastStill, on 04/19/2008, -5/+10Other than the "before" picture for some diet scam or a cosmetic surgeon's "greatest challenge" exhibit, I cannot imagine anyone wanting to "own" any part of blimpy. The open sewers of the Third World have more class.
However, it takes even less effort to debunk blimpy than the goreabull, since the former doesn't have so much as the veneer of junk science to substantiate his outlandish lies. - teamcoltra, on 04/19/2008, -5/+8I would MUCH rather raise my taxes and give those who need extra money for health care to get that GOOD health care, then raise my taxes and EVERYONE gets bad health care.

We are steeling Africa's health care workers its not fair.
- siszam, on 04/20/2008, -13/+3You know you're an immoral, evil person when you justify the suffering of others so you can put a few more dollars in your pocket.
- techweenie1, on 04/20/2008, -2/+5congratulations you just let whatever was said in the video fly in one ear and out the other.
- IconoclastStill, on 04/22/2008, -2/+4Libs have nothing but chicken broth in there, amigo; the vibrations hit one ear drum, vibrate through and pass out the other side in peaceful bliss . . . although random stimuli sometimes are known to result in a spontaneous rendition of "Kumbaya" or "Give Peace a Chance."

- prinzrob, on 04/20/2008, -5/+5After watching the video, I would say this is hardly an "own". Stossel asks Moore questions and then for the most part they edit out the replies. Sure, all of those foreign dignitaries came to the US for operations, but the point is that most of us are not opera stars or world leaders with a couple million in the bank to pay for expensive procedures that are not covered by insurance. Were you even paying attention, Stossel? I also like how they never cut back to Vicki from the beginning of the story, who will die if her cancer comes back because she can not afford treatment. Hey, ***** her, right Stossel? Instead let's talk about a car from East Germany that has been out of production for two decades! Yes, that is very relevant!
- davidmesaaz, on 04/20/2008, -2/+10The point is quite clear private insurance is superior to state run health care. I lived in Canada and they were always griping about the quality of the care and how it took 8 months to have any surgery done. They have more ultrasounds in the state of Ohio which is not a rich state by any means than they have in the entire country of the United Kingdom. To say that Cuba has a better health care system than the United States is complete madness. If its such a good system why doesn't Cuba allow foreign inspectors in from the UN and other agencies to verify the quality of care? They don't allow external verification because the entire country is divided in great health care and country clubs for the elites and party bosses abject poverty for everyone else. But who cares 99 percent of the population is poor as well. If Cuba is the workers paradise as so claim why aren't the poorer nation of the Carribean such as Haiti flooding into Cuba? I think that we should have more travel to Cuba just to show what a failed ideology it is.
- prinzrob, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1When did I say anything about Cuba, and when was Cuba even mentioned in this video? My point is that it doesn't matter how good the US health care system is if you can not afford it, and it is very often sick people who lack the means to pay for expensive operations. I feel that we should find a way to make the high quality US health care system available to all Americans, not just to those who are wealthy or fortunate.
Also, this report was constantly changing focus and failed to make any logical points.

- Erythroxylum, on 04/22/2008, -1/+10I can't believe that fat socialist propagandist/film-maker with the Emo glasses - whose name I've temporarily forgotten despite it being in the title of this article - cites a war as an example of how government interference/intervention can be a positive thing. Not only is defeating an evil far left political ideology (sorry for the tautology) - in this case National Socialism, Nazism - nothing like providing healthcare, and therefore stupid, but he's meant to be part of the asinine, quixotic, 'War is absolutely bad' crowd, and so only serves to make himself look ridiculous.
Maybe it's because he's not wearing a baseball cap. Maybe it, by being perched on his fat, moronic head, suppresses the *****-insanity.
Anyway, being as I am from England, I urge everyone to adopt socialised medicine. Urge you, that is, if you're a sado-masochist and you've always wondered what it would feel like to die slowly, painfully of a Staphylococcus aureus-related infection in some dirty hospital corridor which you acquired whilst going there to have a sprained ankle taken care of.
- tman84, on 04/22/2008, -1/+8Ask someone from Canada what happens if they need to see a specialist, the reply will be "buy a plane ticket to America" You'll die before you can get to see a specialist in a Socialist regime.
- davidmesaaz, on 04/22/2008, -0/+5True I lived in Canada...
- punx, on 04/22/2008, -0/+7My brother and sister in law live in Sweden (she is Swedish) and their healthcare is *****. She almost bled to death having her daughter because the midwives (they don't see docs for pregnancy) couldn't figure out to do a simple episiotomy. Her father was diagnosed with Parkinson's last November, and he is still waiting to see a specialist, and won't until late this summer. What they do there is they pay all their doctors the same on a flat rate pay scale, even neurologists. So these doctors figure it's a better deal to work less hours because they will get paid the same. So 20 hours a week pays the same as 40, and you had better pray you don't need to see a specialist. Also, did you know you can't walk into a pharmacy and get aspirin? You have to have a prescription. So, no thanks, I don't want government health care.
- bentman78, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1A lot of people that want government health care haven't been under it. I was under it when I was a child under my father's military plan and when I was in the military itself. They almost killed my sister...twice...because they were idiots.
I admit it's better now than when I was a kid, but since I've been out and not relying on tri-care or military doctors, I have to stay the quality is much much better.
I'd rather see HSA's with tax deductions that way people can spend it on what they want. They have to decide what's more important, the 46 inch LCD television or their bodies. For some 25 year old who has no problems, the TV may be a better investment to them....for others it's not.
The government isn't your mom or a nanny...stay out of my body...
