dailymail.co.uk — In a politically correct age, they seem like outrageous anachronisms. And there is no doubt these adverts - many taken from the first half of the last century - reveal just how much women used to be caricatured as downtrodden housewives or hair-brained office girls.

Men are not downtrodden, but they do get paid more, get more jobs, and sexual and domestic abuse is still usually directed towards women in children. I will agree that the man's image has fallen in the media, but many commercials still hint at women as sexual objects more than anything else. Proof? Find any beer commercial without a pair of Budweiser toads.

However I will never stoop to thinking of men as less than myself and I hate advertising or tv shows that portray that image. It's *****.

I'll grant you that women in the workplace should be treated with respect and equality but deep down, women want their man to be strong. It's a biological imperative.

        Women and men are not the same. To say otherwise is to lie to yourself and other. Equal does not have to mean that they have to have the same roles in all facets of life.
