- inactive, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1This has to rank as one of the worst ideas I've ever heard of. All these cars need is a good service, tune and repair. Which will soon be true for any new car such a "lower-income individual" would be likely to buy (and you know they're not going to by a new car, they're going to buy the cheapest car they can find and spend the rest of the money on something else). Better to subsidise vehicle maintenance for low income families and/or (financially) encourage the creation of non-profit groups that fix up old cars.
