How to control the Internet traffic within your company?
cyclope-series.com — Sometimes too much of a good thing is bad, that's why Internet traffic needs to be controlled within a company.

- digg it
- MonarchWastxD, on 03/07/2008, -4/+4This is the worst form of censoring. Next they'll be filtering windows so you can't stare at the clouds.
- ufia, on 03/08/2008, -0/+2Maybe they should, if all you are doing is stare at clouds on work hours.
- sockpuppets, on 03/08/2008, -0/+2Maybe he's a cloud inspector.
- Ramzy, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1What the ***** does filtering natural sunlight have to do with company productivity?
I'm good friends with the sysadmin in my company, so he and I usually chat about all things related to the company and its workers. To be honest, while censorship is annoying, it's something that has to be done. It's just ***** stupid when people spend more time looking at their Myspace and Facebook profiles than actually doing what they're damn well paid to do.
If people exercised some restraint, and balanced their workload and leisure time, then limiting and censoring users wouldn't have to happen. But when some guy thinks he can download 7GB game iso's, or spend 3 hours posting on and viewing other peoples Myspace profiles, then there's a problem, and it needs to be acted upon.
It's usually the actions of a select few that spoil it for everyone else. Sad, but true.- Y0tsuya, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1Ramzy, this is your boss. Get back to work or I'll be forced to filter digg.
- ufia, on 03/08/2008, -0/+2Maybe they should, if all you are doing is stare at clouds on work hours.
- djepik, on 03/07/2008, -0/+5Nice to see this in the images section...
- bagelpirate, on 03/07/2008, -1/+11How the hell did this get to the front page?
Oh, because anca9pop is a digg farmer.
Accounts with more friends than diggs should be banned.- Conway, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1Friends w/ Mr. Babyman as well. Something smells.
- bionicvskungfu, on 03/07/2008, -1/+4This is obviously a case of a company trying to push out there blog spam as news. The only way the writer could have sounded less informed would be say "the tubes are not a truck".
- Haphazardness, on 03/07/2008, -0/+2Digg me down if incorrect but isn't it better to filter on the network layer (or by access lists on the router?) rather than the application layer? System admin basics I believe? I took Cisco network classes a few years ago but can't remember everything.
- Lutremi, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1True. My school does this, which is why the typical disable add-ons trick doesn't work...
- aroman07, on 03/08/2008, -0/+1Not always. One of the benefits of software filters is the fact that offers user friendly statistics per user and per computer. Also, software filters offer more blocking and filtering options.
