Never in history has a sitting President ***** up so much, so badly, for so long, for so many people... To the point of even ***** up the effort to un-*****-up the *****.
Vote accordingly, kids. - greencoat, on 09/26/2008, -0/+4We need to stop this madness. Who is going to pay for all of this?
You are.

I'm going to use this space to send a little message in a bottle to myself, 5 years from now.
Hi, me. It's September 2013 where you are. Here's how things are in 2008. Compare the two, and see if we're doing any better in your time, versus ours.
It's now become too much to expect of a President, the head of the Executive Branch, to do what an executive does. Lead. Instead, we have a sitting President running around on in a building on fire, trying to decide whether it would be a better idea to turn up the air conditioning, or put out the fire with a hammer. Now, we've learned how to get along without a leader for quite a while now. As Americans, we really haven't had a leader for quite a while. But, something strange happened this year. Leadership used to be measured on a spectrum of effective-to-ineffective. Now, with this whole debacle, we've had to widen the spectrum--it's now a range of positive, to neutral, to negative. Yup, in 2008, we've discovered that there's such a thing as negative leadership. A form of leadership worse than no leadership at all. Worse than doing nothing. Worse than absent.
A nation of sheep begets a government of wolves. - bsmeteronhigh2, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson literally bent down on one knee as he pleaded with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi not to withdraw her party's support for the package over what Pelosi derided as a Republican betrayal, according to the New York Times. Did she notice the hand behind his back holding the knife?
- inactive, on 09/26/2008, -0/+2***** this Paulson should be tried for treason and Piglosi to!
