Each of these elected pie hole talking heads should be stripped
of duties, placed under oath while investigated by the FBI for
high crimes !! - inactive, on 09/28/2008, -10/+140The criminals in Congress are going to use the coercion of the Federal government to rob your money and then give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street while the criminals in mainstream media tell you that it's a good idea. It's not a good idea.
In order to artificially hold up a Ponzi scheme we will damage and risk destroying the dollar and the savings of all Americans.
Vote them out of office. Vote third party - inactive, on 09/28/2008, -11/+140Don't blame me.
I voted for Ron Paul. - JKap, on 09/28/2008, -18/+108"Bailout" "That's a good one!" "HAHAHAHAHA"
National Socialism (Nazism) is being ushered in--in the middle of the night. The $700 BILLION line of revolving taxpayer credit is going to be used to give the Big Brother Government control over nearly every aspect of our lives. Is there very much of anything in life that you can do without using money somewhere along the line?
Where does the money come from? Could the "Federal Reserve", the quasi-private cartel of banks that are unaccountable to the people in the monetary policy that they impose on the rest of us and the issuance of our currency and "credit", be at least somewhat responsible for the "crisis"? Who benefits from such a byzantine ponzi scheme? The average taxpayer or the money masters who always seem to make out like bandits from the system?
We imperil ourselves every day that we do not question, interrogate and investigate the "Federal Reserve" Banking System.
Where is the democratic debate regarding the "Federal Reserve"? It is certainly not to be found in the recent "debate" between the "opposing" spear-carriers of the War Party...
'Those not favorable to the money trust could be squeezed out of business and the people frightened into demanding changes in the banking and currency laws which The Money Trust would frame.' -Rep. Charles A. Lindbergh
'Whomsoever controls the volume of money in any country is absolute master of all industry and commerce and when you realize that the entire system is very easily controlled, one way or another, by a few powerful men at the top, you will not have to be told how periods of inflation and depression originate.' – President James Garfield - inactive, on 09/28/2008, -1/+74Seems the NY Times decided for a more 'appropriate' picture..here is the original..

"Public opinion polls show the bailout plan to be deeply unpopular. Conservative Republicans have denounced the plan as an affront to free market capitalism, while some liberal Democrats criticize it as a giveaway to Wall Street."
so who the ***** is voting for this *****, and why haven't they been beaten?? - jaymzdean, on 09/28/2008, -3/+46Did they change the photo on the article page?

As its my shameful history I'll answer the question. Hitler became Reichskanzler on the 30 January 1933.
On the 28. February 1933 a unthinkable terrorist act was commit ed and the German parliament building was burned to the ground. The next day the German interior minister announced the legislation Verordnung des Reichspraesidenten zum Schutz von Volk und Staat (Law to protect the people and the state).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichstag_Fire_Decree ... If you want to read the legislation then I suggest goggling PATRIOT act 1 & 2. or see http://janschejbal.wordpress.com/2006/07/19/englis ...
Under the powers of this act people could be arrested without trial and for an indefinite time frame, enhanced interrogation techniques were allowed, interception of communications etc. The 1st political internment camp (Concentration camp) was set up in Dachau.
Executive powers were increased with the Gesetz zur Behebung der Not von Volk und Reich ("Law to Remedy the Distress of the People and the Nation")
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enabling_Act_of_1933 and the rest is history
The question would arise has the US moved in the direction of fascism If you look at this http://www.oldamericancentury.org/14pts.htm I think the answer may well be yes. - EasySt, on 09/29/2008, -2/+30 Perhaps it's because all those legislators, executives and administrators are either in the pocket of, or in the sights of, the real money masters and architects of this crisis...
Is it time for this country to take its money back, once again, from the Money Masters?

I wish our congress critters could all be held down and forced to watch these two videos, kinda like in Clockwork Orange... (No, they don't recommend going back to a gold standard.) - Navicerts, on 09/29/2008, -0/+26The votes have been paid for by the bill itself probably.
- inactive, on 09/28/2008, -0/+25yes.
- ChristNewsWatch, on 09/28/2008, -2/+26Voting isn't the answer.... C'mon I know at least some of you realize that if a bonafide 3rd party candidate got in, the crooked people aren't just going to give up so easily, now do you?
If you think "they" will let us right this ship.... giving up on the way of life they have grown accustomed to... not to mention their bigger plans.... you may be living in fairytale land!
What's going on here is way bigger then just the USA.... similar is happening all over the world... I don't mean to bum anyone out, but the fact is... This is much bigger then who gets the nod as President! That's a mirage... looks real, but it really isn't! - marco114, on 09/28/2008, -2/+26these people need to be removed from society
- ptheroux, on 09/29/2008, -1/+25Enough is enough. It's time to just throw all the bums out. I don't care whether your congressman is an R or D, if they vote for this garbage, vote them out in November.
- inactive, on 09/29/2008, -0/+23Yes. The original photo had them all laughing with their heads thrown back. It reminded me of the pigs from Animal Farm.
- locojones, on 09/29/2008, -0/+20So much for our representative form of government.
- Adamande, on 09/28/2008, -0/+20Indeed. Zarkosy of France has already been an obedient lapdog for the global corporate interests for years. The same goes for Merkel of Germany and Brown of England (the most heavily surveilled country on earth.) Now, we get news that the extreme right-wing nut Jürg Haider is leading polls in the Austrian election on his anti-immigrant (anti-Muslim) hatespeech. This is probably the closest thing you've got to a neo-nazi as presidential nominee in Europe. These warmongers are popping up everywhere. The more western politicians talk about a "free world" the more I'm afraid they have every intention of destroying it.
- Dereliction, on 09/29/2008, -2/+22You're an idiot if you think that one party or the other is to blame for "this". Our entire country is in shambles because of the antics of all of these preposterous charlatans who would have you and I believe that they are representing us in any way.
Please, for the sake of the people of this country, get your head out of your ass and stop thinking in terms of "Dem or Repub". It is US vs. THEM, the people vs. the Statists, freedom vs. coercion. When the people of America finally get that figured out, maybe we'll begin to make some progress again. - inactive, on 09/28/2008, -0/+19Yeah, somebody should pass this picture on ... It speaks volumes.
- JKap, on 09/29/2008, -0/+19Part of the National Socialist Program was the nationalization and division of profits of business and industry and unlimited authority to carry out this Program. That's exactly what this "bailout" plan does, it nationalizes the economy from the top down and provides for the division of profits of business and industry through the unlimited authority of an unelected bureaucrat, former Goldman Sachs CEO, Hank Paulson, to carry out the Program.
I didn't need all of that committed to memory to understand that this $700 Billion taxpayer-dollar REVOLVING line of credit to "bailout" Wall Street Welfare Queens is an anti-thesis to American capitalism and the Constitutional Republic of the United States.

What I think is somewhat sad and pathetic is that my three detractors above, who primarily only offer ad hominem arguments, are probably of supposed diametrically opposed ideologies, It would not surprise me if these detractors are both "liberal" and "neo-conservative" in their ideologies. And of course it would stand to reason, since the twin banner-carriers of the War Party agree on "protecting the economy" through nationalization and socialism.

http://hk.youtube.com/watch?v=LPSDnGMzIdo - brad3378, on 09/28/2008, -5/+19In my opinion, the criminal behavior isn't limited to just the people in Congress.
Take Billionaire investor Warren Buffett for example.
After investing $5 Billion in Goldman Sachs stock, Warren Buffet is now publicly defending the bailout package. Conflict of interest anyone?
Shameless plug: http://digg.com/business_finance/Why_Would_Warren_ ... - Ebacherville, on 09/29/2008, -2/+16vote third party as you can tell there really isnt any difference between dems and republicans.. vote all the bastards out!!
every single one that votes for this should be voted out, the people spoke in vast numbers calls were overwhelmingly against the bail out , and there doing it anyway. - synapz, on 09/29/2008, -2/+15You're operating under the assumption that the bailout will fix things. As it turns out, government never fixes things, except when it removes the laws it's written. Plenty of people are telling us that this will debase our currency, and given their track record for predicting our current calamity, I am inclined to believe them.
Here's Peter Schiff being mocked as he tells us about the housing market crash in 2006: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoB4BS7CGAw
And here he is, remarkably, being mocked again, telling us that the bailout will cause a currency crisis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSPSiDX0Xnk&feature ... - EZLA, on 09/29/2008, -5/+18"Burning Down The House: What Caused Our Economic Crisis?"

GET THE LUBE!!!!!!! - inactive, on 09/29/2008, -2/+14I called my worthless Representative and let him know that I am opposed to this bill. (He didn't answer the phone of course, but I did tell the woman that answered the phone.) He is voting for this bill of course which doesn't surprise me since he also voted for the Iraq War etc. - even though is a Democrat. Just goes to show that there is really only one party and they are not looking out for the interest of the American People. I also called my Senators and Barney Frank and Speaker Pelosi. I also called Sen. Richard Shelby who is a Republican and is opposed to this bill and urged him to filibuster it.
I urge everyone to call and let your representatives in Congress know just how opposed you are to this bill. I know it can be frustrating, but we need to at least let them know.
Oh yeah. I'm voting for the Green Party. I urge everyone to vote for a 3rd party candidate. We need to send a message that we are fed up with this rampant destruction of our country before it is too late. - mattlohkamp, on 09/29/2008, -0/+12whoa. what, did they think no one would notice?
- chronobyte, on 09/29/2008, -0/+12The current one has Paulson as The Savior while others solemnly listens to him. Coincidence?
http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2008/09/28/bus ... - unfairunbalance, on 09/29/2008, -3/+14The banks can bail themselves out with the money they extorted from the U.S. Citizens in the form of the illegal Federal Income Tax revenue. Federal Reserve creation and National Income Tax signed into law by Woodrow Wilson after being pushed through absent Congress ( Not in session Christmas break) in 1913. The J.P. Morgans, Carnegie's and Rockefeller's forced the President to signed this Bill. These people are the real enemies of America. Particularly David Rockefeller creator of the CFR.
