Imagine being an elderly homeowner who has had coverage on their home with Allstate for 50+ years with zero claims, and all of a sudden they get a letter from Allstate telling them their policy is being discontinued. It's one thing to stop writing new policies in a particular area, but to screw over long-term, loyal customers like this is asinine.
