Merry Christmas. - sheeplescareme, on 11/21/2008, -2/+5this is rich. not only do i have to drive around town and see government apartment complexes and subsidized housing with brand-new cars parked in front, but now i can see my neighbours who chose to purchase homes they knew that they logically could not afford on their salaries staying in them at the governments (and, eventually mine and the next few generations) expenses. i'm not so callous as to want to see people out on the streets, and i know enough about economics to know the root cause of the financial and unemployment crisis, but...grrr! this is especially infuriating to someone that works hard, invests wisely, and carries no debt.

The people who mortgaged their homes to "cash out equity" are now strapped for cash again with no way to cover the shortfall. If they were the federal government they could solve their problems the same way the fed does, write checks with nothing to cover them. - NoLibertarians, on 11/21/2008, -2/+1Great, the government should do more to help folks..Merry Christmas Home Owners
