- ManHammer, on 06/24/2009, -6/+118Barney Frank is an idiot
- z0rk, on 06/24/2009, -4/+110Just what we need another housing bubble.
- stevetrojanman, on 06/24/2009, -4/+85Yes, Barney, because this past one that you deny any responsibility for clearly worked out so well for us...Can somebody make this guy wear a dunce cap please?
- viejo322, on 06/24/2009, -5/+72He is so easy with our money.
- govsucks, on 06/24/2009, -7/+66Ah yes, Barney Frank, ***** America and liberty once again in the name of class warfare and collectivism. But really, how about the ***** that get humped by this man every election and vote for him again.
- Lilycat1, on 06/24/2009, -4/+56Here we go again is right! And the same morons who bought into this before will do so again. Another bailout, anyone? Why do people keep re-electing this total fool?
- Christianptriot, on 06/24/2009, -5/+44NOW barney is pandering for MORE votes in his run up to the 2010 elections with OUR money.
CHANGE we can believe in my foot! - Trick07, on 06/24/2009, -14/+52What the hell is wrong with Bush and his banking cronies who continue to destroy our economy? 8 freaking years of Bush letting banks do as they damn well please is what got us in this financial mess we are in and now Bush is asking for Fannie & Freddie to relax the lending standards?
You would never see this if a Democrat was in power. BUSH SUCKS! - nomarxist, on 06/24/2009, -3/+41How do we fire this bunch? By 2010 they will have destroyed an hope of ever recovering!
- 7papa7, on 06/24/2009, -3/+36Only a total idiot does the same thing over and over and expects a different result. If the damn government would not have forced fanny and freddie to give loans that would never get repaid we would not be in the mess we are in now. The one heading this mess, you got it, it was Blarney in the house and Dodd in the senate, both incompetent boobs steeped in the democratic socialism. They both need to be replaced. Anyone would be better than them. They should have a requirement in congress to have an IQ on the plus side. It is time to drive the morons out.
- mnvrchvy, on 06/24/2009, -4/+35Why would he want developers to continue on a project that can't even fill 70%. This guy has no place making decisions that effect business in America. If you can't fill it, reduce the size of the project. It doesn't help anyone to have empty condos, apartments, and houses lying around. In fact, it will keep them from getting occupants because smart people know that having an empty condo next to yours drastically reduces your condos value. BTW, it wasn't Bush's ideas that got us into this mess, but he sure bought into this line of thinking in the last few months he was around. If the Democrat congress didn't already hate him so much, they might just have fallen in love with him.
- savr, on 06/24/2009, -9/+38Barney Frank , pervert, and Maxin Waters are the two people most responsible for our economic meltdown. His insistence on the banks lowering their standards and in fact getting the Feds to threaten the banks if they didn't lower the lending parameters so that anyone who could walk or call a bank was able to and did get a subprime (no doc) loan. This sob should be prosecuted but the Repubs are to stupid to call him down.
- belleboy, on 06/24/2009, -4/+27Barney and Anthony, please tell me it isn't so. You can't possibly be that stupid.
On second thought with your combined IQs I would not doubt it.
Can't you two guys find something else to do other than wreck our country? - mgraves81, on 06/24/2009, -5/+28hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
To quote our President that was a bit of "gallows laughter."
We are doomed. Can someone please remind me of the definition of insanity again? - darkened, on 06/25/2009, -2/+23This is why the government should not run businesses. They fail. I can't imagine what the failure of a national healthcare system if they couldn't even run a mortgage company (Frannie Mae / Freddie Mac) without nearly ruining the whole economy.
- nomarxist, on 06/24/2009, -4/+24Finally, I see your humor.... I hope!
- RonPauls, on 06/25/2009, -2/+21why haven't Fannie and Freddie been eliminated? They shouldn't exist. They are completely artificial and couldn't exist without government subsidization that distorts the market.
- 7papa7, on 06/24/2009, -4/+23That's one of his better points.
- Rosebysea, on 06/24/2009, -4/+21I guess Barney needs some votes from a few developers. Screw the rest of us!
- jacknichols5, on 06/24/2009, -4/+19America burns while Barney meddles-sniffle lisp sniffle lisp
- Doubledown, on 06/25/2009, -2/+17Guess what that says about the citizens of Massachusetts?
- rizzo2008, on 06/25/2009, -8/+23funny this is exactly what Clinton did with the Community Reinvestment Act in the 90s and sparked the subprime madness.
I said this somewhere but it is such a good quote I must say it again...
Albert Einstein once said the very definition of madness is to try the same thing again and expect different results. - WoofThis, on 06/24/2009, -4/+19He's the banking queen ya know.
- PhantomRogue, on 06/25/2009, -1/+15Yeah, the only way to get out of a horrible credit funk is to give even more loans out to even more unqualified individuals!
- mgraves81, on 06/24/2009, -5/+18<sarcasm on>
I don't see what your problem is, what makes you think that you are more qualified to handle your own hard earned money than the government? Sheesh
<sarcasm off> - kreatre2007, on 06/25/2009, -5/+17Housing crisis number 2 on the way thanks to those who brought us the first one.
NOBAMA! Keep the change. - Hillsfar, on 06/24/2009, -5/+16Can we have some common sense here? Sheesh. What sane person would invest full price in a condo where less than 70 percent of units are sold, where 15 percent of owners are delinquent on condo association dues, or where one owner has more than 10 percent of units?!?
- nomarxist, on 06/24/2009, -2/+13Do you realize that you also described the people that keep re-electing this corrupt bunch? You are so correct.... "total Idiots"!
- Ascus, on 06/25/2009, -2/+12It worked so well for the Democrats last time, they (the Democrats) got all the credit for all the people that otherwise would get loans, and the Republicans got blamed when those people could not repay them. Of course they are going to try it again.
- phydeaux70, on 06/25/2009, -2/+12Can anybody explain how idiots like Frank, Pelosi, Reid, and Dodd continue to get elected?
- Kate1240, on 06/25/2009, -0/+10They are elected by idiots who follow blindly and aren't smart enough to question.
- sanibelsnook, on 06/25/2009, -3/+12TERM LIMITS!!!
throw these losers out!!! - tasine, on 06/24/2009, -5/+14Is that why he has never been indicted?
- jjamminjon, on 06/25/2009, -1/+10Frank was on the O'reilly factor and says what I've noticed for a while now, that a lot of these condo's were built and are mostly empty in New York City. Reason is the banks won't loan to anyone for any condo unless 70% occupancy of the buildings maximum capacity is reached, which isn't going to happen because all these idiot developers think that there's an endless supply of rich people to buy condos in the 'Great Big Apple!'
- borez, on 06/25/2009, -0/+9I'm sensing from these comment that Barney Frank is not a liked man.
- MrColdheart, on 06/25/2009, -2/+11They shouldn't have built so many condos during the past 8 years.
If you live in a major city you know what I mean, it was like they where expecting this army of rich people to emerge and buy everything up. - tasine, on 06/24/2009, -3/+11I'd rather he wear a mask to prevent him spitting on people when he talks.
- norman619, on 06/25/2009, -1/+9The "relaxing" of loan rules is what got us in this mess and this fool is asking to repeat the mistake. I wouldn't be so critical of him if this was 20 or 30 years down the road and our politicians were repeat the mistake. They have shown us many times over that they can't remember their past blunders. Never looking back always looking forward. But my god we are still recovering from this mess and everyone has acknowledged the fact that it was the realxing of loan rules which caused this last bubble. This man needs to be fired plain and simple.
- tasine, on 06/25/2009, -1/+9No. It defies reason and sanity. The people who keep voting them in have neither.
- thinkb4utype, on 06/25/2009, -3/+10Anyone else think it's funny that Barney Frank is teamed up with a Congressman named Weiner?
- MattS, on 06/25/2009, -3/+10This is exactly how we got here in the first place.
FNM and FRE said they wouldn't do X. Lobbyists ran to Congress. Congress pressured FNM and FRE. FRE and FNM capitulate and do X. Problem ensues. Everyone blames FRE and FNM. Repeat. - kemp34, on 06/25/2009, -0/+7More heroin for that junky!
- Doc123, on 06/25/2009, -0/+7Sigh.. the dems just never learn
- rizzo2008, on 06/25/2009, -3/+9to do the same thing over again and expect different results...
- Striker101, on 06/24/2009, -5/+11Every time we see something like this, remind yourself that they've chipped away another chunk of your freedom. Withdraw; else you are paying taxes to hasten your own demise.
- Bloodwine, on 06/25/2009, -2/+8In a housing crash, the last people to know are the contractors. It's normal that there are a lot of vacant new construction when a housing bubble bursts, and in time the situation will take care of itself one way or another.
Last thing we need is relaxing rules for mortgages again. - faskippy, on 06/25/2009, -1/+7Ah, yes. We knew the second bubble was coming, but who knew they would advertise it this quick!? This is exactly what paved the way for the first one just a few very short years ago. We had an idiot Prez, and and idiotic congress, (and none of that has changed, just the players).
Here it is again, in case you missed it the first 20 times:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs - danielttt, on 06/25/2009, -1/+7Certainly needs some polish....or something..
- TheUngod, on 06/25/2009, -0/+6He's a ***** tool. Why doesn't he just try to get more condos FHA approved instead of this idiotic idea? That's half the reason people don't buy condos.
- Chakat, on 06/25/2009, -3/+8@WasabiBomb:
Bush vetoed a grand total of 12 bills while he was in office. He would have had to have vetoed hundreds of bills to set records. Quit sticking up for the democrats' flaws. -
