But seriously, I'm glad that someone is paying attention to this kind of thing. If it's not Microsoft or a tobacco company, it's a fossil fuel company that's funding "independent" studies. It's too bad that research can't be taken at face value any more. You have to research the research. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5One of the elements of critical thought: POV

- chriskzoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Thye only have an 8% profit margin during record quarters. Compare that to pharmaceutical companies or Apple Computers - both who routinely turn a 20% profit.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Boycott Exon Mobil everyday. There are other companies out there that sell gas and oil, Better yet buy less gas with riding bikes, telecomuting to work and car pooling

i... i don't believe it!!
say it ain't so!! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow, experts paid to give a biased point of view? That's shocking. I mean, imagine if this was more common... imagine if this kind of stuff was allowed in court - oh wait, it is! Hello, compensated expert witness!
It's one example, yes, but this is about as benign as commercials telling you how great product X is. If you can't understand that the people behind the message actually have a vested interest in you believing something than you deserve to get duped. - inactive, on 02/18/2009, -0/+1Sue for crimes against humanity given the drastic consequences of the carbon economy that has previously benefited these companies. Use the money recovered to increase use of negative carbon technologies such as the production of biochar and syngas from biomass pyrolysis. Do it now...
- m1th, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5'course, how else can they keep their profits high? Lies, lies, and more lies...

- Muyoso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1True, but remember, all scientists get funding from somewhere. And funding usually stops when they find no causal relationship between the things they are studying. Not saying all scientists are biased, but all scientists do need to make a living.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's true, says so right here: http://digg.com/search?s=ExxonMobil+global+warming&submit=Search§ion=news&type=both&area=all&age=7&sort=most

- khag7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1flexfuel looks pretty cool
- informbusiness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is not surprising ..i must admit i have stock in this company though now my conscience has smothered me in guilt so i have decision to make. I do agree with the post here but what you need to understand is that exxon cannot be boycotted so easily therefore i do not encourage trying to .. whatever u do should be energy conservation and let the government and/ the public org. deal with that.
- YeahOK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What about all the money global warming proponents get from leftists, Hmmm? Really this is a valid question, where do they get thier money? Don't tell me it doesn't happen ;)
