Democrats say oil companies don't want new leases
foxnews.com — President Bush urges members of Congress to address high gas prices by lifting restrictions on oil exploration and drilling, in his weekly radio address, but Democrats say oil companies don't want new leases. Is that right?

- nickymouse, on 07/12/2008, -1/+4Hey Queen Nancy, you know that normal people have to pay for gas. Government doesn't pay for our gas tab.

Obama will listen with those ear's how could he not! Just kidding vote conservative this year, oh crap there is none running oh well vote McCain! I wonder if Obama gets HBO with them ear's, My TV only had a small set of rabbit ears and I got 10 channels. wired up correctly Obama might get Mar's. (No Racial insults intended just picking at them Big Ears)
PS Obama would be awake if called late at night. How the heck could he sleep with them ears! - ohpiddle, on 07/12/2008, -0/+2One can only wonder how much red tape is involved when trying to open a new oil well. Just because the oil companies own the lease on acreage does not mean they get to use it all. We were looking at buying 10 acres at one point but found out due to a tiny drain off stream that you could step across that drained from the adjoining property and ran through the 10 acres, we would only get to use three acres in all and they weren't three adjoining acres. The environmentalists considered it wet land. Needless to say we didn't buy.
- ReverendJon, on 07/13/2008, -0/+1I had a similar problem however, the actual wet part of the land was nothing more then road drainage that cut the property up,. it was there without consent of the owner and declared wetlands not useable by the owner. they did say that if I wanted to build approved concrete bridges across the areas that they would consider, of course with a 25 K fee to build a single family home on what was 50 acres of land. The estimated cost of the Bridges was 500K. I rejected to purchase the land
