Craigslist scratches its head, tells eBay WTF
tgdaily.com — Craigslist asks eBay - who is calling the kettle black? CEO Jim Buckmaster says in a blog post that many of the protections that Craigslist has implemented were used by eBay themselves in the past years.

- yuanzhoulu, on 05/07/2008, -1/+0*****, it's stupid waste-of-time profit-seeking lawsuits like this that i HATE, and why i'm afraid to become an entrepreneur in this country. i have ***** to do, i'm a student, and i don't have time to deal with being sued by some stupid business just seeking to make a few bucks off a gamle to sue whoever for whatever they can.
these kind of "technologies" are not patented by eBay and are just freaking common sense.

- DeathJux, on 05/07/2008, -3/+33Craigslist > eBay, if it's heavily used in your community. Not only was all the furniture in my apartment (in Minneapolis) bought off Craigslist, but I sold all of it on there too when I moved out. Eventually I gave away all the stuff that didn't sell, so it was great helping out people that otherwise couldn't pay for stuff (unless they were just greedy liars, but I presume they were genuine).
- poopnugget, on 05/07/2008, -2/+0Its simple and just as safe if you aren't retarded!
Plus I love free stuff! - Diggtatorship, on 05/07/2008, -1/+16Just this last Saturday I got rid of an old glider chair, an old barbecue, and other assorted junk through Craigslist. I was great: Put stuff in front of house, posted pictures on Craigslist, went about my usual Saturday activities, and finally came home just as the last of it was being hauled off. Like a yard sale without the waste of time, buckets of loose change, and petty haggling.
Craigslist is recycling and reuse done right. eBay is scam. - MiDri, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1I found my current house on craig's list, place freaking rocks!

- otis12, on 05/07/2008, -5/+28I bring my anti-rape buddies when I do Craigslist transactions
- GeorgeStone2, on 05/07/2008, -0/+41That funny, because I bring my rape buddies :D
- bxblox, on 05/07/2008, -0/+14I just watch.
- RealmDown, on 05/07/2008, -1/+1I brought the video camera and the popcorn.
- snareguy17, on 05/07/2008, -0/+10That reminds me of a friend calling me up at like 10PM one night because he had placed an ad on craigslist (for what at the time I didn't know) who wanted him to drive to a warehouse in downtown Las Vegas. He told me to come, and I asked why in the hell he was driving to downtown Las Vegas at 10PM to a warehouse, and he told me verbatim "I think this is the girl from the missed connections ad I posted".
- BradHAWK, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3So how the hell did it turn out???

- Jovensdesciple, on 05/07/2008, -8/+14Craigslist is only good for buying bitches for $200 and eBay is only good for ***** bitches out of $200.
- Melancholiatic, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4You mean, 200 roses.
- MiDri, on 05/07/2008, -1/+1Thats like 200 / (20 x $39)!

- robthom, on 05/07/2008, -9/+11So now they want to absorb and ruin craigslist too?! ***** ebay!
They were cool 5-6 years ago. But ever since they got big and popular with housewives and sheep, everything they do or touch makes my skin crawl.
Why is it that as soon as americans fix their attention on anything nice they invariably ruin it?- KirbyMeister, on 05/07/2008, -1/+5This is why we can't have nice things?
- robthom, on 05/07/2008, -1/+6Pretty much. If you want to have, do or enjoy something nice you better hope the american general public doesn't catch wind of it.
Digg is getting the same way.

- SilenceGold, on 05/07/2008, -2/+4Paypal ruined Ebay. (well i know it was a bought out the other way around). Craigslist offers better payments...absolutely no restrictions.
- jameshickmott, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3I agree, Paypal are con-artist's they are an insurance company not a bank.
- imitokay, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3amen good sir
I assume you know this site?

- robbiemuffin, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4well, he's gone public because ?? (hint: it isn't because he's got a sterling legal standing in the cases)
anyway, a company that wants to remain uneconomically motivated should be lauded for doing so. straight up, gotta love craigslist's .ORG :) - greentshirt, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2Craiglist is the ultimate in bland webpages, and ebay is the ultimate in a webpage that doesn't know when to shut the ***** up with the links and the ***** graphics. Obv they goinna h8
- imitokay, on 05/07/2008, -1/+6***** ebay and ***** paypal!!!!
okay, I admit it, ebay comes in useful at times, but I know every single person on here has been butthurt by one of the two at least once, esp. paypal - eryximachus, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3Has anyone gone to the internet cafe in GTA IV?
Craplist! I love it, it is the absolute most funny part of the game. The personals are particularly amusing. - modsuperstar, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2This may be a bi-product of the fact I like sites that look like they might have been created post-1999, but I like eBay's Kijiji way better then Craiglist anyways.
- Walker2323, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1You're kidding, right?
- queotic, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1I like Craigslist because it's just plain text, no graphics or banners.
- PurpleSfinx, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2So Ebay are trying to assimmilate Craigslist I see... ***** fantastic. Why don't we all just let Ebay, EA, and Microsoft buy everything. Then we can just have 3 competing companies. Then EA can buy Ebay and EAbay can Buy Microsoft, and then we'll all just have EAbaySoft milk and EAbaySoft bread and EAbaySoft T-shirts and drive around in our EAbaySoft cars.
***** hostile takeovers.
Maybe they just want profits from Craigslist, and not to buy it altogether, but given Ebay's history, I doubt it. If someone knows better, correct me:
Bah, who cares. Ebay is dead to me. I don't know if many people know this, but in Australia they've removed every payment method except PayPal (some exceptions apply for huge purchases, like houses and cars). I'm not kidding, go there now and have a look.
Oh, apparently you can use Cash On Delivery as well... yeah, real great when you're running a business. ***** Ebay.- fokov, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Write your own site and handle your own payment processing. Cut out the middle man known as eBay.
- pjrbx75, on 05/07/2008, -0/+0i don't understand.. is craigslist doing something illegal? how can they be sued for this?
- bigtech64, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2Say I sold you 500 shares in my company, making us each half-owners. Then I decide to sell 1000 more shares to other people, now you own only 25% of the company. eBay says they can prevent such a sale taking place, but Craigslist went ahead and did it anyway.
- withremote, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3I missed something here. Craigslist is good, ebay is bad. Where's the problem?
- sandiegodude, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4Oh hell no. Don't be *****' with my craigslist.
Ebay needs to go sell more lamps and get over itself. - PHiZ187, on 05/07/2008, -0/+3Ebay and PayPal, don't crap up Craigslist.
- exeprime, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1dugg for title. awesome.
- RyeBrye, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2"After I received the shares, the company immediately issued more - diluting what I bought. Would still buy again, though. Fast shipment, good communication."
- Ebay's comment on the neutral feedback they leave about their share-buying. - cybrguy, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1Ebay is using its deep pockets and lawyers to bully craigslist into doing what it wants, much like how Monster Cable bullies smaller cable makers like Blue Jeans Cable.
I for one dislike ebay and craigslist for being so anti-2nd ammendment.
