- drlha, on 12/01/2008, -0/+108They'll be needed for the upcoming fire sale.
- juliohm, on 12/01/2008, -10/+61lame.. i myself can print that stupid paper here at the office and stick it to the fire extinguisher.. click! digg me up.
- Rusty747, on 12/01/2008, -2/+42Damn everyone has told me the best fire extinguishers are from Circuit City.
- scabbers, on 12/02/2008, -0/+33It's not even a fail anyway. They don't want them to sell the fire extinguisher, so the sign wins.
- MooseOfReason, on 12/01/2008, -1/+32I wonder how much they'd charge for an extended warranty on that.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+28It is because that store is going out of business. When Comp USA went out of business I bought all their security camera equipment and some storage racks. The only reason they aren't selling the fire extinguisher is because they would break fire code, or else they would be slangin that thing for sure.
- themadhatter444, on 12/02/2008, -1/+21Would have been hilarious without the FAIL stamp. Way to ruin yet another joke, internet!
- LeggoMyEgo, on 12/02/2008, -1/+19OH MY GOD, WE'RE HAVING A FIRE........sale. OH THE BURNING.
- tuanjello, on 12/01/2008, -0/+15the way their earnings are posted I think they'll sell just about anything if the price is right
- untitled10101, on 12/02/2008, -4/+17Fail because of fail
- dshPls, on 12/02/2008, -3/+16This is just a horrible submission, and a bunch of unfunny douchebags have even come to post witty one-liners. Buried.
- Coffeedemon, on 12/02/2008, -0/+10"It's not that hard to say "***** off""
Its also not hard to say "no thanks"... unless you're an *****. - IphtashuFitz, on 12/02/2008, -0/+9Buried for dupe as well
- voodoochild461, on 12/02/2008, -0/+9That pic would be just as good if not better if "FAIL" wasn't pasted on there. That ***** is played out.

- DteK, on 12/02/2008, -0/+8but you didnt, he did
- nonymous666, on 12/02/2008, -0/+8I remember being at CompUSA on one of their very last days and they had price signs on *everything* - from their used janatorial buckets and brooms to a a very-used and scruffed up Shop Vac.
- chadsexingtime, on 12/02/2008, -2/+10If it doesn't have 'FAIL' in the picture, how am I supposed to know its funny?
- MrTankJump, on 12/02/2008, -1/+8[citation needed]
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+7Nobody likes fail. stop it
- judicar, on 12/02/2008, -0/+7It's probably a store that is closing, when this happens a third party company comes in and liquidates EVERYTHING. They'll literally sell the carpet off the floor.
- christoast, on 12/02/2008, -2/+8stupid. how is that fail?
- ThugThrasher, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6You do realize that the check your receipt isn't to actually CATCH anyone (hence why a "no thanks" will usually get the job done unless there is an ***** working who doesn't get the point). It's to discourage people. If there is someone checking receipts and keeping an eye out for thieves, it makes people less likely to shoplift because they think they'll be caught. Hell, if you ARE caught shoplifting and you give it back they won't care, even if you RUN they won't chase you because retail employees are ALMOST ALWAYS taught not to chase a thief.
And on another note, I worked at Circuit City for years (in one of the highest shrink stores in the region, even) and the company never even SUGGESTED that we do the check receipts at the door. The only checking receipts we did was when someone was getting a TV or something, our warehouse guys would look at the receipt to make sure they were giving the TV to the correct customer. - rnawky, on 12/02/2008, -0/+51. Print fake sign with Circuit City logo
2. Put on random fire extinguisher at your place of business
3. ??????
4. PROFIT! - harrisbradley, on 12/02/2008, -1/+6Digg doesn't prevent duplicates
- drlha, on 12/02/2008, -1/+6You either have a overly dirty mind or don't know what a rim shot is. The link is safe.
- mackattack, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5At least they didn't put FAIL in the title....
- Demener, on 12/02/2008, -1/+5People actually get uppity about things like this? Wow I wish I had your problems.
- dmrick, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4would you like to try that a little...simpler?
- wicketr, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4I thought the slogan was "everything must go!" as well. hmm
- MoonDogAFO, on 12/02/2008, -1/+5Nothing to see here - move along people.
I closed a number of retail stores early in my career, and in each case, the closeout sale would result in people asking how much for fixtures, shelving, AND FIRE EXTINGUISHERS. I was always told that the extniguishers needed to stay so the building remained in code. I have to assume that, if the pic is real, this is just Computer City making sure that they are covered. - kidathinnes, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4Apparently they haven't been selling too much of anything.
- SemperFly, on 12/02/2008, -1/+5Yeah, ***** those guys for taking 10 seconds of my life to combat shoplifters.
- gl77, on 12/02/2008, -3/+7it baffles me how ***** like this gets on the FP. ***** buried.
- OzzieAlThor, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3Isn't it ironic that a "fail" picture fails?
Where's the funny? - LonesomeFighter, on 12/02/2008, -2/+5anything you want. because by the time you need it, they will be out of business
- wicketr, on 12/02/2008, -3/+6instant rim shot? I'm not clicking that link for the remote chance of what images that might bring up.
- Jordan117, on 12/02/2008, -1/+4Good. If they did sell extinguishers, they'd come packaged in that invincible hard plastic packaging and thus be useless in an actual fire.
- hurrayforschool, on 12/02/2008, -2/+5Do they sell FAIL extinguishers? Digg could afford to pick up a few of those...
- phantom_mullet, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3Amaaaaazing graaaaace!...
- starslinger72, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2right because extended warranties arent handled by a third party warranty company like every other vender in the states. makes no difference if they are in business or not. Way to runin something funny with being a moron
- jonmlm, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2ooh, i need a new crow holder, thanks!
- loriencfau, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Actually, although I'm just as trustworthy as the guy who posted, I'm betting this is the same fire extinguisher I saw when the OKC (Northwest Expressway and Hefner Parkway) CC went out of business two weeks ago.
I laughed when I saw it on the way out, and when I saw the title I assumed it was that same extinguisher.
Fo' real. - jackelopeus, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Buried for Burried
- jer21, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2This isn’t a fever! (Continues singing.) Can’t even see where the knob is! (Dramatic sigh.) And scene.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2The Digg spam wars have begun!
- DorkyMore, on 12/02/2008, -3/+5"Fail" is a stupid meme. Rate this comment down and reply to it with "Fail" if you're a manchild.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Step 4 is unattainable for any and all things internet-related.
- Catchpen, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Fail would a picture of the checker sliding it across the bar scanner with sign intact. Your fail conditional function has failed!
