  • cashman57, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2I keep a very minimal amount in a checking account through a credit union. It is for convenience. Most of my bills are paid in person and my savings account consists of American Eagle gold coins.
    Conventional savings accounts in banks do not even keep up with inflation.
